On the short beds yes. No worries on the 6' bed.

I plugged mine to keep dust out. Fills up with water if I’m parked just right during a heavy rain but it dumps right out when I leave my drive way

It would seem it is actually the OEM bed mat that is plugging the drain holes. The edges of the holes are actually pretty smooth, combined with the slime that built up around them from being underwater, my fingers slid right over them without noticing.

The mat fits so snug around the fender wells that it really can't just be shifted a bit. Ill need to waller them holes out a bit, to get off of the little nobby underneath the mat. Possibly oval it some.

Does it help to cut holes in the mat directly above the drain holes ?

I think the better solution would be having the holes closer to the front of the bed. There seems to be a small gap between the front wall and the front of the mat. Maybe even right in the corner of the bed floor and front wall. Not sure what that would do to strength or otherwise. Would likely solve the drainage problem though. Would still need the leaves and such removed occasionally.

I like when they get clogged and the bed fills up. When You take off fast, it's like a tidal wave back there

Had some recent monsoon storms here in Phoenix & found out quickly that my bed drains were clogged AF, ha ha. Half a swimming pool back there. Glad I noticed less than 24 hrs after the rain. My truck is a weekend toy and I have a BAKflip tonneau, so it could’ve been sitting for weeks without me knowing. BAKflips generally keep things pretty dry back there but when there’s wind throwing heavy rain towards the back of the truck for an hour or so, water apparently gets forced in through the small gaps around the tailgate.

i have no issues with water draining even with a bed mat and bunch of nasty crap caked into the bed. it either drains into the holes near the cab or out the tailgate gap. i bet your holes are clogged

My experience has been polar opposite, but most of Arizona isn’t exactly a rainforest. Things get plenty dusty back there, but you know- desert.

Three 5/16" drain holes in the front of the bed, plus a couple in each of the storage cubbies.

My problem, since I have a camper shell, is not water draining out of the bed. It's water coming up into the bed from below. Therefore, I plugged all the drain holes deliberately.

Are there also drains in the rear? My husband noticed two holes near the tailgate tie downs. He doesn’t have them on his Raptor, so we’re just confirming they’re supposed to be there. 22 PRO

Do you have a picture? The rear "drains" are gaps built into the tailgate.
