You should share this in @six5crèéd's thread.

This made me go out to the garage and check my older Ryobi drills and none of them seem to have this feature but it's possible they predate this

Interesting. I haven't had any issues with either my Ryobi or Milwaukee drills backing off of bits, but the back click works on them all as I just tested. :pccoffee:

Assembled! In all her glory! Here's to hoping it will stay together as it is only half glued. :fingerscrossed:

If you are worried about it coming apart, they have little 90° flat brackets you can put on the backside.

I don't know if this has already been suggested but I think a variable speed sander would probably be helpful, lowering the speed lowers the noise. I use 5 & 6 inch RIDGID sanders from Home Depot, not because I can't afford better ones but because my helpers abuse them and they're easy to return, whereas Festool return policy is probably a headache..

My kid was a little late to the balance bike craze, so when he out grew his 12 inch balance bike I bought him a 16 inch bike with standard cranks, pedals and training wheels. Since he was just mastering the balance bike he wasn't feeling the training wheels at all, so I modified his bike into a larger balance bike. The only thing missing was someplace to rest his feet while he was coasting. You have no idea how OCD I got making this little piece. Originally it was a flat piece of plywood, then I thought a curved piece would be better for foot positioning so I cut the tail off a skateboard and flipped it downward. And of corse I had to finish it to perfection with 10 coats of lacquer..

Festool customer service was my best customer service experience ever .

They sent me a new $700 track rail 2 years out of warranty with zero hassle and let me keep the old one

Good point. I think part of my problem is my current Ryobi has been used a bit and I suspect age and use are making it a bit noisier as well.

I'm gonna need some second opinions on this:
    20220930_110619.jpg
The smaller piece on top is just stain. The larger piece on the bottom i used conditioner first, then stain.

    Thoughts?
