Aftermarket LED TRD PRO headlights

Hello,

New to taco life.

I want aftermarket LED headlights. Found here https://www.carid.com/2021-toyota-tacoma-headlights/lumen-sequential-headlights-3533249304.html

but it says will not fit models with led daytime running lights. Mine does have led running lights. Will this still work????

 

Why not OEM actual TRO PRO headlights?

I want LEDs also, and plan on going with OEMs so i can get that improved output as well.

 

Go to YouTube, search Tacoma Beast , he did a review on 5 different head lights . hope this helps.

 

You live in TX and you don't have a front license plate?

 

Tacospike the aftermarket is $400 vs OEM which is 1200 and they look the same.

Do not buy it, buy alpharex or morimotos or retro fits and your taking a chance with those even. Oem is better or the pro the quality will drop and issue later on the road

 

Looking the same and performing the same is not the same. I guess if you go for looks, that would be an option

 

Was able to obtain alpharex brand new for 300 dollars from someone who sold his truck, wait and find good deals online

 

Looking at those headlights, it looks like they tie the DRL to a parking light circuit. It should be noted that their description and directions are absolute garbage. I think they mean that they won’t work with FULL LED headlights. Browsing the pictures and “directions”, they should work with your truck. Disregard the part about hooking the DRL to the parking light, and combine the trucks DRL and parking light (with diodes) and the headlights DRL light will come on with the DRL instead of just the parking lights. That way you don’t have to drive around with the parking lights on all the time.

 

I did the same with my OEM LEDS. found on Craigslist for $900. the output on the aftermarket LEDs leaves a lot to be desired. the OEM's are bright

 

@cg2731 where are you located? If you are in Colorado, we could definitely improve those for you. Cut that crappy turn signal connection off and make them truly plug and play. If you aren’t in Colorado, I don’t know that it would be worth it unless you want to learn to crimp.

Ultimately I like the current oem headlights that come with the TRD sport. They’re…not bad, could be better. But I’d like the housing to be black instead of that chrome. Otherwise if I’m going to buy new ones I’d like the look of the TRD PRO headlights and some better projection
