That's what I did and I have no regrets.

Mine has been on for over a year with numerous power washes and mild off-road trails. A little comes up on the outer rim when the tires are swapped out, but thats expected. I'm happy with it and touch up is just a bit more added. I actually like the OEM Sport rim style, but I didn't like the silver machining. I would do it again without hesitation.

So, I recently got a (relatively in this market) great deal on a very slightly used 2021 limited in army green.

Amazing truck with every single possible option, however, was not that excited about the chrome trim and body colored flares.

So I got out some trustee cans of plasti dip and begin the transformation to make a limited/off-road.

    What do y’all think?

    Before and after:

Plastidipped the fender flares and door handle inserts. The rest are replacement parts.

Favorite wheel and color combination. Wondering how it would look on a black DCSB. 4 coats bronze, 2 coats clear per wheel? Glossifier? I want the exact look youve got.

Reminds me of the bronze BBS wheels from my old Subaru WRX STi.

Looks awesome! Was thinking about doing the same finish to my stock wheels and came across this post. How has it held up?

Does anyone have a picture of a BBP TRD Sport factory ride height with sport wheels painted or dipped black? Maybe even with some A/T tires.

If you want a permanent fix for the chrome bumper caps, the Bumpershellz from Ecoological are amazing.

They have double sided tape but I didn't use it and they've stayed on fine for 4 years with just the clips.
You can do body color or black textured (which is what I did) and the look great.

    I forgot about this thread.

Derp'ed my flares. So much better, IMHO.

The shittastic Sport wheels are soon to be gone.

What tire are you running on the sport wheel?

I refurbished some Pelican cases using PlastiDip that I came across for free (about $900 brand new), pretty pleased with how they came out. The rifle case has been on the roof rack since July and am happy with the durability.

    Ask about our BumperShellz
It should be noted that we don't do EVERY body color. But if we don't carry your body color, you can always by the ABS Paintables and take them to a shop to color match.

Thanks for the vouch, @0NEC4R !

265/70R17. Had them both with Wildpeaks and now these Nokian Outposts. The size works great for me.

Not sure why anyone would hate on Plasti-dip - the pictures you folks are posting look fantastic. My son want's his fender flares black (super white). Is this a 2 year solution?

I have dipped several things on several cars over the last few years; rims, grilles, handles, nameplates, moldings/cladding. The stuff has worked very well for me especially considering the four seasons we have up here in the rust belt. Usually the haters have never even tried it or applied it incorrectly-- spray 5-6 light coats letting each coat completely dry. I do not spray any type of clearcoat on the last application, it's not necessary. I dipped ALL of the chrome on my 4Runner four years ago and it still looks great.
