Yes....from Japan or Europe depending on the model. And that adds an entirely different level of complexity and additional hands.

But I was referring to the Tacos. They're boatless

Nope, my Tacoma, built in Guanajuato, is sitting as I type this at the port of Veracruz waiting to get on a RoRo Vessel so it can be transported to the East Coast.

It’s not the end of the world
But it is the same way at the bottom too
Seems like it could be adjusted somehow

My GMC Sierra was made in Mexico. I never had any problems with it. My previous Sierra was made in Canada; same thing. I had a Tahoe made in Texas. Honestly I’d rather have a non-union worker build my truck. But then I live in a state with no labor unions.

I have discussed with a friend that any 2019 car/truck is better than any 2020-2022. I make this statement based on the supplier issues, and that the production lines were disrupted by covid. I believe that producers would take any "acceptable" part to keep the line running, and simply deal with issues as warranty when/if it arose.

100% agree. When trucks come off the line incomplete and waiting on components, like Ford is experiencing again, quality suffers. Assembly line techs remotely install the missing components and quality control processes are interrupted. This is not the case everywhere, but the supply chain challenges are definitely affecting quality.

Lots of Tacomas in Hawaii and they certainly aren’t air dropping them in.

Maybe so. Not 100% up to date on that plants logistics. I know Baja vehicles are generally railed and trucked....or at least used to be.

My point was, some people seem to think new vehicles are wrapped in bubble wrap and aren't subject to any post assembly dangers. That's just not true. The vast majority of cosmetic damage comes from transit and/or the countless people that will handle that vehicle in some way before it ends up in a driveway.....be it rail/truck/ship load and unload operators, dealership personnel, careless customer contact on the lot, including test drives and unruly children, etc., etc.

Yes, as I posted above, my Tacoma, which was built at the new Guanajuato factory, is currently sitting at the Veracruz facility waiting for a slot on a RoRo vessel so it can be shipped up to the port of Boston.
