When 1GRs were blowing head gaskets we didn’t hear about it because the info was getting transmitted via telegraph and/or cave paintings

Ha okay bud. So salty over a comment from an internet stranger lol

The 1GR is still used by Toyota for the petrol powered Hilux, LC 70 series, LC Prado and every other 4x4 Toyota flagship of offroad reliability in the most remote parts of the world. Toyota could have easily put the 2GR into these vehicles but they didn't for some reason....

If you're buying a Toyota truck for HP...then you're buying the wrong vehicle sugar tits. Lesson for you here is this - don't get your panties in a wad over a motor. Nobody but you actually gives a shit. They're both great and serve their purposes well, and I say that as someone who has owned both a 2nd gen & 3rd gen.

See, nice and salty over your lack of ponies ;)
Naw dude, most of those sold are using some form of diesel, not the 4.0. Even than its not the same 4.0 as the 2nd gen, they are using the dual vvti version not the single vvti of the 2nd gen. The dual vvti 4.0 is definitely a better engine.

Why in the actual fuck is a 2nd gen posting in my thread? Do you want a 3rd gen or something?

You have to try to validate yourself in any way possible when you know what you have is inferior.

Why don’t we see Hilux dudes on here? They’re out on a safari somewhere, they could care less. 2nd gen bros have something to prove, this is a safe place for them to do that.

The current gas powered Hilux and 70 series most definitely use the single VVT-i version of the 1GR. Wikipedia snip for you below, I can cite Toyotas own website too if you’re still confused.

    upload_2022-9-30_17-45-31.jpg

“Numbers sold” or random comments about diesel motors doesn’t change the fact Toyota still chooses the 1GR over the 2GR for their gas powered off-road vehicles around the world.

I do agree the dual VVT-i motor should have been used in the 3rd Gen, and 2nd Gen for that matter. But it is what it is haha

Buddy, this whole thread was posted to try to justify the fact there are a lot of 2GR motor failure threads popping up on the website…and you’re here defending your choice in truck motor?

The irony of that alone is hilarious. You could climb a wall of dicks without your hands with the circle jerk going on here lol

Lol dude, why you here? You do know that the 4.0 is the least popular hillux engine right? They don't even offer it in a lot of the countries its sold it. The diesel is what people want not the 4.0, maybe v6 gas engine sales would have be better if they went with 3.5 instead.

Nah, I’m sorry I brought up a sensitive subject. No offense meant by it, it was supposed to be a joke about this whole thing still being a hot topic here.

I’ll see my way out now lol

This thread was made so that 2nd gen owners can feel better about their objectively inferior trucks and by the time they can afford to upgrade they will have to buy a shitty 4th gen.

Last time I am paying any attention to your posts...
I started this thread because several new members were shocked at the number of failures being reported here. All I did was simply put it in perspective. A good writer will always know their audience and write accordingly. Your posts prove otherwise. Bye bye.

Freaking double posting weird ass formatting; I blame the 2GR.
