Son's Tacoma has a broken leaf spring by the gas tank (2012). I know there was a recall for previous years due to this same problem, but none for him for now.

Has Bilstein 5100s and rear and 1" blocks. He's a broke young 18 year old so cost effective is key lol. Thanks

New leaf packs are expensive. You can try a salvage yard for a OEM leaf pack then put in an add a leaf to lift without blocks. That’s probably the least expensive option.

3rd gen leafs will work as well. They run about 200 in my area.

What did Toyota stop the recall? I thought it was still on going.

3rd gen leaf springs will lift the back of a 2nd gen around 3/4".

The recall was on 2 +1 leaf packs and were replaced with 3 + 1 leaf packs.

Lift blocks are a really bad idea on the back of Tacomas due to axle wrap issues. Ditch the 1" block and install 3rd gen leaf springs and he'll notice a positive difference.
