Wheel Rub - Front Passenger Side

I just put on some new 265/70/17s on stock suspension and have rub on the front passenger side. There was a small piece of the mudguard that was rubbing that I just cut.

That opened up to what seems like a hollow behind the wheel well. Does anyone know if this is something I need to cover back up (or have steps they did before)?

The pictures don't show the opening, but at least gives you an idea of what I'm describing.

it looks like you have not cut your mud flaps

and it appears that you may have gone over something

and twisted your mud flap .

I would remove the wheel, and then remove the mudflap

and see if any metal may have got bent behind the mud flap.

may have to pound it back in so mud flap sits correctly.

very simple solution...cut. or you can get difficult and go get an alignment and tell them to add caster.

 

thx for the flaps thread. i'll be pulling the wheel this weekend to see what's going on.

 

That bump in the flap is to cover the end of the fender flair, just plastic which can be trimmed without hurting anything and water will just go thru the hole and drain out the bottom

 

Congratuations, you next project might be billy 5100s at the .85" setting.

 

This is re-assuring, I've looked around and it does just look like it's something I can easily patch with some foam and rubber sealant.

lol, I so have to pace myself now. dropped $$ on wheels, tires and a long list of goodies. just glad i have a separate acct that my wife doesn't get to see.
