Today I washed the truck, changed out my fuel rims with stt pros on them for my stock wheels with studded duratracs, it's required Oct 1 to drive on our highways with winters. Replaced stock lug nuts with doormans and greased the front end while i had the wheels off.

Trying to give it new life. My boys' actually. I have a 3rd Gen, but they will be driving soon and found this '07 in really good shape. Needs some TLC, but otherwise good.20221001_150124.jpg 20221001_172026.jpg

I had a set fail out of the box from them (it was the inner). Installed them and then parked the truck for a week while i was away....zero miles. Got back and took for an alignment and drivers side was shot. Have not had luck with trq products.

I just put one in and hard wired it from the overhead console. 40 bucks from Amazon and it works great.

So if you got rid of your original knobs (along with those little clips) after switching them out with the Amazon ones you're SOL?

Not a bad name. They do seem to enjoy the work. The gnats have finally receded so it is actually pleasant working outside. As you know, they can get pretty bad around here. They have a lot of plans for this truck. Stereo, back-up camera, wheels, tires, etc. At least I will have gift ideas for next year or so. I'll be digging through this forum stealing shamelessly from other builds hoping to push them towards reasonable, semi-useful mods. Not the gaudy, over-the-top stuff that seems to fill social media.

Installed an ultragauge and went for a drive to watch it work. Interested in what other people have theirs set up to show.

Yup. I'll no longer buy cheap parts. I was going to go with OEM the first time, but it's ridiculous expensive

Yup.... I did this as well. I ended up buying the cheapest Amazon oem style knobs and robbing the clips from those.

Genius! I have the same HF jack and Pro Eagle jackstand. I need to give that grinding treatment to my extension.

So my clear coat is cracking really bad on my roof. And I decided so get some temporary protection on it and level it out. But I'm kind of digging the forced patina as I sand. What do wall think. Maybe do the whole truck this way?PXL_20221002_002630652.jpg

My roof clear was shot and my hood was down to bare paint and flaking/chipping badly. Just as a reference, 3 months ago, I paid a quality shop $980 to do a full strip/paint/seal on my hood and roof. Zero regrets.

Drove it around running some errands today. I decided to blow out the cobwebs leaving base, so I gave it the beans and thought about how I still get surprised with how quick these trucks move when you give the skinny pedal a serious toe-in even at almost 200k.

I know they're not FAST but I do like to think the 4.0 is hearty. Really makes me want to supercharge it...

My 2008 is like an Indy car compared to my slug 2016 V6. Maybe broke tires loose 3 times in the 2016 with a CAI and better Gibson exhaust. The 1st day I had the stock 2008 it broke loose when I nailed it on a 45° turn. Love that 4.0 low end torque.

Installed transmission skid for upcoming wheeling trip. Lost some ground clearance because it was interfering with the marlin gussets. Notched it to fit and turned out well. I have been using it for a while now not realizing it was pushed down about half an inch prior to notching it.
