Considering bailing early...

Maybe its the unchanged air filter? Maybe its because of my driving, or perhaps its because I'm in shock that gas prices skyrocketed over night 10 to 15 cents. I dont think I can do it with the long distance driving I HAVE to do. It's to much.

The most someone has offered for my truck (recently) was $11,500, but it has some door damage. I thought it was way to low, especially since that's what first gens go.

Anyway, if I decide to pull the trigger what are good eco cars? No prius, or Honda fit sport looking cars.

Anyone else feeling the heat?

Yeah. I drove by the gas station today in shock. $3.15 for regular. I'm used to paying $2.89-$2.95


I've been pondering upon buying a streetbike(used 05 or 06) And using it to drive to school/work. I'm using a tank and a half a week atm.

 

God yes. I see Silverado's and 250's and I just think, "My God...."; and those aren't even the lifted ones.

Considering a 06 VW GTI, sporty, luxurious, fast and economical. Or an 02 4runner sport, seeing as I dont use my bed.

 

Sorry I don't have any specific vehicle info, but definitely get something that is reliable. Great gas mileage won't mean anything if the car is constantly breaking down.

Depends, I'm actually getting worse mileage than I did in my Silverado. It was a Z71 extended cab...

As far as cars, Subaru's are real decent cars. If you're looking for something small just to put miles on, can't go wrong with a civic or accord. They're small but they do have quite the reputation for longevity. You could look at one of the TDI's but I'm not sure how maintenance is with those and you'd be paying extra for diesel.

 

No recommendations for cars/SUV/trucks?

 

The new accords are suppose to be good. Even the http://www.hyundaiusa.com/ not sure about their reliability yet, but they fix it for the first 100k miles.

 

That's why the truck is a Toy and the commutes are in the Bu... 27 mpg vs. 15 mpg...

get yourself a Corrolla or Civic if you travel alot and gas prices are gauging you.

 

I guess I should mention I;m 19 and cant accord "new" or anything over 14k

 

what about a Corolla S!!! my gf mom has one and gets 39mpg highway and 35 city and only oil changes

Anything small will be pretty good. I had an older Ford Focus that was really good on gas. I would average around 30 city. The SVT focus was a decent sporty car with about the same mpg. A VW Golf is just all around good. I have wanted one for a while. Pretty good mileage wise and they have a big mod market. Corolla's are nice too.

I'm payin $3.50 here in Hawaii. And I get 10-12 mpg. My suggestion is a BMW 335d Has pretty much all the performance stats of a regular 335 but it's Diesel. Gas mileage is estimated around 23 City and 36 Highway. But in an independant test they averaged 43.9 Highway and a combined average of 35.1 MPG. Just my personal suggestion...
