My rear passenger side tire is wearing on the very outer edge of the tire, would anyone know what could be causing this? The tires have roughly 1k miles on them and the others are wearing perfectly fine from what i can see.

Edit: I did find my Alignment printout but i dont know crap about them.

Check the PSI to see if it is low. With 1K miles on the new tires, make sure the lug nuts are torqued to specs. Then maybe take it back to the tire place and inquire.

Odd to happen on the rear tire like that, the alignment is pretty good. You can't adjust it, and its showing a slight dog track, very minor.

I'd definitely move it to another spot and see if the other tire does it as well.

I'm curious if its a tire issue or alignment issue. I havent seen a Mickey Thompson all terrain in ages up in my region.

As of right now I have 38psi in all tires and all lugnuts are good.

That was my next thing to do is rotate the tires and see what happens.

Before rotating, maybe talk to the tire shop. If the old tires wore evenly, it is possible it could be a defect in the new tires.

It is odd; especially with such low mileage.
With that thrust angle, if anything, wouldn't you expect to see inner wear on the passenger side and outer wear on the driver?
Could the passenger side, being the primary driven wheel, have something to do with it?

That’s some pretty bad blistering to be honest. Are you 100% sure the wheel is mounted flush.

the problem is this would have been noticeable in the last set.

I suspect tires given the information i have.

I’ve warrantied a handful of tires in my life. Mostly generals in the 00s

I agree; but is it possible?
We don't know what other work coincided with the new tires, or that something mechanical has gone awry, that just happened to coincide with new tires.

Toe usually has to be out on both sides working against the truck.
They are equally pointing and dog tracking, barely. So by that logic the left inner would have to be wearing as well.

You’re right the right rear tire gets all the torque due to the nature of Tacoma, which would point to abuse possibly

Swap sides on the rear and see if it continues with that tire or if it starts to happen on the new tire placed on that side so you can at least decide if it's and alignment/axle issue or a wheel/tire issue. That's some serious wear in 1K miles. Everything look correct suspension wise on that side?

I drive like a old woman in my truck lol so its not from burnouts or anything like that.

Everything looks fine to me suspension wise.

If it somehow rubbed on something it would see melted rubber or something I'd assume but who knows....

:notsure:I would suggest before you rotate them, to perhaps do a chalk test. See if all of the tread is making contact with the road, if not that could cause some of the tread blocks to disproportionately heat up. Its possible that with your wheel/tire size combination that you have too much PSI.
With the bed empty, rear tires may need less pressure ~2 PSI less

I had this happen to a set of duratracs on a long road trip. They scalloped which looks similar to your picture. It can happen to new tires.

My old tiers did wear evenly I never once seen any weird wear. I installed a Eibach Pro lift kit with 1.5AAL 2 weeks befor i got my new wheels and tiers.

I do plan on doing a chalk test tomorrow and I'll report back with the results.

So after doing this im even more confused as it didnt turn out how id expect it... First photo is the passenger rear 2nd is driver rear and 3rd is front.Passenger.jpg Driver.jpg Front.jpg

Now im sure we can all agree there is to much pressure in the tires from looking at that, I did drop them down to 34 PSI after this and got the same results so im going drop them again to 30 and do it again later today to see what happends.

Other possible causes could be hub bearings, tire/wheel imbalance, bad shocks, warped brake rotors (front only with our trucks). Considering you just got these aligned and the issue is only with the rear tires, I still wonder if its simply tire pressure.

What size and load tire are you running? Rim width? MT Baja Boss A/T is an assymetric tread pattern; is "outside" mounted out?
How long ago was the alignment?
