Favorite Whiskey?

Old MGP was the juice that got High West and Smoke Wagon on the map originally. I think pre-Stoli Kentucky Owl used them too.

Come to think of it, most NDP stuff I like is boiled out at either MGP or Heaven Hill.

 

How much did you have to pay for that W12?

 

The Alberta premium cask strength is one of the few allocated bottles that seems to sit on the shelf in VA. Not sure why, cause it is great if you like high proof stuff.

 

its such a difficult situation...want to be a purist but there are so many awesome people out there buying MGP (which is great stuff) and throwing in different finishes or blending some crazy things.......some are terrible, some are amazing.....just gotta be smart about spending the dollars

 

i always tell people about it and they dont believe me..........it also sits in a different section of the store here so no one actually even knows its there

I rarely dip into this 15 year because I can never find it but couldn’t resist. Such a good bourbon.

That bottle’s cool as shit, I stand by that…but it does look like some crystal my grandparents had.

I usually find it for 22 but see it here and there for 20. I had to pick up a couple for myself and a buddy

Ok fellas, I need to know why you love this shit so much. I keep passing it up. I can dig the bottle, good texture for a good grip. It’s functional AND decorative. But tell me what’s so great about it.

 

I second this, I’ve passed it up a few times and now I feel like I made a mistake

 

you have to be at least 75 to enjoy this bourbon. That or have an unhealthy obsession with macramé. I can’t explain it any other way.

My description won’t do it justice because I’m not able to talk about nose, finish and all that (I’m getting there) like a pro but I’ll say it has an almost hint of chocolate finish. It’s smooth. It’s got a bite but it’s subdued. It’s just a damn good bourbon.
