I’ve been thinking about this lately. I didn’t think it was necessary since I only had 14k miles when I did the SC install, but now I’m regretting not doing it back then.

if im planning to purchase and install the fuel rails, it seems like changing plugs would be a good job to do at that time rather than pulling everything apart to install plugs and then going even further a few months down the road to install the rails. a few more months with stock plugs won't hurt anything, right?

fwiw, @Freerdr17 said it only took him about 15mins to swap the plugs with the supercharger still in place.

Interesting. I will ask Justin for a look this weekend. That is surprising though considering how the S/C looks compared to Stock, which wasn't a horrible job.

    If so, bravo, Maggy!

Well, hell. Look at that. Plenty of access. You can see Number 4 and 6 pretty clearly there.

I was just looking at my engine bay to verify the access. To see them is one thing, to have access is another. Especially, when you need to squeeze the long extension for the plugs. Don't get me wrong, I think it's doable and it seems like even with the blower, there is more access than many cars out there. But it will definitely take more than 15 minutes.

A few hoses and brackets will have to be moved out of the way to get full access. Especially, for the ones running a catch can.

No doubt, but it looks like more room than stock. I did mine twice. It was about 90min give or take with the left side being the bigger pain obviously.

testing for the 87mm + fuel rails going really well, and some really nice boost pressure

87mm without fuel rails receiving some excellent and favorable feedback from additional testers provided with the tune earlier this week

uh, yah. been with two iterations of the 87mm pulley tune and each have been leaps and bounds better than the already amazing 90mm pulley tune. idk jack about what he does, but our friend @mZiggy has wrung out another huge helping of performance of our otherwise "anemic" little truck. I never aspired to have a performance vehicle or sport car, especially after I bought my truck. Even after driving the maggie tune. One has now landed in my lap. It rips. If I disengage traction, it will squall both tires an irresponsible amount. It leaps. As it courses through the gears, you do not feel any lag or pause, at least I have not. It positively zipps up through the rpm range with my head pinned to the rest. I mean, holy shit, this truck has serious balls. I will try to get a video today but its wet out in NJ for several days and it looses traction when dry leaping into first AND SECOND, so I don't think doing one on a wet road would be particularly safe or advisable. Stay tuned. You will all want this. go ahead and order your pulley's now.

Oh damn, I didn’t need to hear this!

Anyone have the number handy on the colder plug?

NGK DILFR7K9G (platinum pin on the ground electrode) #91961

    or

NGK LFR7AIX (regular flat nickel ground) #2309

The former is basically a longer lasting version of the latter, since platinum is superior, and probably fires off a little easier, but both are great options nonetheless. I actually only just recently learned about that first one I listed, or I would've had it included as a recommendation in the Stryker FI tune guide supplement document this whole time. I'll be adding it in there alongside the LFR7AIX.

To add on to this, the NGK LFR7AIX #2309 is what I ran with my Twin Turbo kit.

    No problem.

Expensive little buggers aren’t they? LOL

Should we plan on the standard gap?

If it were me, I'd do 0.030-0.029

0.031 is stock gap. 0.028 should be considered the narrowest I would say. Narrower than that is moreso for higher boost pressures.

I ran my set at 0.028 with my TT kit.

Another Tacoma running right on our Blackhawk tune, courtesy of our YotaWerx networked tuner in Phoenix, AZ :hattip:this individual went with the Active Duty throttle as prep for the additional weight this truck will soon be putting on

    Looking good!

What boost numbers are we seeing with the 87mm pulley?

9's on the stock rails, 10's on the aftermarket rails.

Any thoughts on why that might be? How would freeing up fuel flow increase boost?
