So Ive gingerly used fluid film in the past for rust prevention but i plan to switch to Surface Shield. Is there anywhere I shouldn't spray besides exhaust? And would it be ok to spray Surface Shield of the existing Fluid Film?

The most critical areas are the boxed sections by the catalytic converters. These frames rot from the inside out.

This frame as been through 7 winters and was treated with Liquid Wrench Rust Inhibitor every fall. Zero corrosion.

I believe it is fine on rubber products so that wouldn't be a concern. I might try to avoid any electrical components you might run into. Other than that and the exhaust, I would say spray away! I used Surface shield on mine and other than those items, I sprayed it everywhere underneath. Good luck!

Best to power wash any fluid flim remnants off before applying surface shield if its anything similar to crc or cosmoline otherwise it will react with one another. Try not to spray the exhaust, or rubber/plastic components although it'd probably cause no harm.

Surface shield, woolwax and fluid film are all compatible no need to wash off just spray over

I tried rinse them out. But it was so juicy in there from years of treatment that they didn't move.
