They did produce the 4.5 v6 diesel that they were going to put in the half ton. There in commercial box trucks.

Anyone hear anything about a Toyota Diesel? about 14 months ago, before i bought my truck, my brother in law said they were supposed to come out w. a diesel.. i know i saw a few years back a Tundra dually w. a cat diesel but it was just a concept. i heard w. the economy getting so bad they scratched the idea.

what about using an isuzu diesel. they make alot of small to mid size diesels... (3.5l size)
durable, good torque, and efficient. You can find them in alot of the smaller cab over work trucks

EDIT: Chevy Duramax diesels are made by isuzu FYI

    +1

Same with the idea of putting a PowerJoke into a Taco.

From the factory, the Diesel options are simply not good.

On the one hand, you have the Cummins. Quite possibly the absolute best Diesel engine available.... and it is wrapped in the worst truck in the known universe.

At the other end of the spectrum, you have Ford, with perhaps the best domestic (branded) pickup available... and they stuffed the worse oil burner available under the hood.

So for heavy towing options (3/4 ton and up) my choices would be Ford for a gasser, or GM/Duramax for a Diesel.

    They can help.
Waste oil reprocessed into usable fuel allows fossil fuels to be diverted to other sources....

But the simple fact is that world hunger is not due to any kind of food shortage. There is more than enough food in the world to go around.
The problem is warlords in control of 3rd world countries maintaining control of the supply.

    Of course it will.

By giving teenage boys awesome Diesel trucks to play with, they'll be too busy to be bangin' the babes... and they'll get smarter because they'll be working on their trucks instead of playing WoW!
