Pulled this thing home yesterday. 230 miles with some 5 mile 6% grades. Truck did fantastic. The scan guage 3 is the bees knees. Trans temps run 195 pretty consistently. Saw 240° once for about 3 seconds before it started rapidly dropping. Most grades saw around 225-230 trans temps towing in S4.

Switched to S5 and saw cooler temps pulling hills, and even cooler temps when just letting the trans do it’s thing on its own versus trying to keep the RPMs up.

Truck has 52,000 miles on it and I plan to do a spill and fill on the transmission in the next week or so. Just trying to research whether or not to stick with WS fluid or try something else. Reading sooooo much conflicting info.

Oh, and did I mention the scan guage 3 is the bees knees???

I tow a 3500# Vorsheer XOC full time and will be flushing the trans fluid today as I am at ~30,000K miles (yes I know, the book calls for 60K change but I tow full time). I'm going to use the flush and fill technique that Tim the Toolman uses (vid embedded below). Drain the pan, fill, then use the trans fluid pump to pump out the old stuff and replace a quart at a time.

I have the SGII. That SCIII looks pretty slick - if my SCII craps out I'm def. going to upgrade to the III.

Assuming that’s a 185BH? I just got the exact same one a couple weeks ago!

Yep. 185 BH. It is awesome for my family. You’ll enjoy it.
