There are fixes for that issue, camel ADV sells the brace for that peg. I wouldn’t let it deter you from buying it. The power gain from the 1000 t0 1100cc is negligible, the techs screen takes time to boot up each time you turn the bike on, and you have to fish thru a menu to get to the on off button for ABS. My 2017 has push buttons on the dash. I like he simplified screen, i bought a Garmin Zumo XT for my GPS and intercom needs. I saved a ton of money buying one with low miles used vs a new one, and spent the extra funds on things that really count towards the bike. Complete Ohlins suspension, Scotts steering dampener, Garmin GPS, Akrapovic full exhaust system, new set of tires, GIVI crash bars and hard cases, center stand, new riding gear and helmet, and i still was under the cost of a new one off the floor.

The AT is a parallel twin motor, the power is all down low, once you hit about 5k its time to shift. Not at all like winding out a sport bike. This is more like a pick up truck compared to a sport car. But you can take all your shit with you and hit the dirt which you cant do on a SS.

Yeah, but we were talking AT's, T7's, and F800's, which are all also parallel twins ;) apples to apples here

Yea. I would like a push button abs off. But im used to how mine is now. I paid $15,xxx out the door for the base manual.

also i like it without the gold wheels  only year apparently
I have apple car play. Also when are you sending me $2k for the exhaust? Then ill get it. Remember i posted the $1100 slip on? I could get a cheaper one, but it doesn't retain the stock valve. Id have to undo the cables, and zip tie them somewhere. Rather skip that and keep the valve. When is @medicfung getting apple car play and ability to use Onxoffroad to find trails?:anonymous:

i have enough parts now.. just need some miles. Working on the Bark Buster install on my breaks from work this evening.. Then I'll decide if im going to build the fog harness tonight or next week.

Dammit you win, wish i had apple car play lol. I guess my garmin zumo xt will have to do with mapping me in as well as connection to my phone and cardo head set for me and my passenger.

Im still trying to figure out how onyx will help me on a trip. I get it for the planning side, but when you’re in the moment, does it help you? How much more over your GPS unit?

Also, as much as I like the gold wheels, the bike I ended up with has black wheels, which i can live with. It’s the other stuff i couldnt. From the get go, it got speed wobbles on the freeway when i ran over concrete grooves. So I knew a dampener was in the future. The suspension is very soft too, and ohlins is an easy fix for that as well. Now the bike tracks and rides so smooth, its almost cheating.

So i have to save offline maps to get gps. And I don't quite get following tracks yet, id rather have turn by turn for offroad. But maybe we're not there yet. So I definitely get the concept of a dedicated gps. Wish Onx had a unit. I don't really want to install another screen like the Garmin Overlander unit. Plus spending $500+ for that is insane to me. Ill just figure out where stuff goes, and keep it in my brain.
I have a 6.5" touch screen that it goes through. Sometimes its kind of a pain to access. The phone is plugged into the bike, and then you have to have a Bluetooth connection to a headset to be able to use car play and stream music or navigation. I haven't figured out if wireless car play works. Also a way around the bluetooth is, if you bluetooth to headphones and keep them in your jacket.

Part of the reason why I installed the dual usb port was in case my Sena headset ran out of battery, I could still charge it and have access to maps if Im way out there.

Decided on no switch for now - (if i fail inspection, then ill add a non lighted switch somewhere. I couldn't figure out how to read the diagram for the lighted one) Also only completed one side for now. Looks so good!
