well I don't have any links to info you can read per se just links to what I bought.
    I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-UV-5...t=&hvlocphy=9028817&hvtargid=pla-570582273961

    with this: https://www.bulletpointmountingsolu...products/handheld-radio-holder-with-20mm-ball
    and https://getoffroam.com/products/air...2nd-gen-2005-2011?_pos=5&_fid=6be209da4&_ss=c
    https://getoffroam.com/products/offroam-double-socket-arm

When I got the radio I just turned it on and hit the button on the side and took me to fm and I can use the arrow keys to select stations.

That all looks great. I like the ball mount. I’m going to get the phone holder system that uses that mount from offroam. Did you get a discount code when you checked out that I can use? The phone system is $80

can you post a picture of it mounted to you vent? It says easy to install. How does it attach? It says no drill no tape or glue.

Yeah, I actually bought that one too. I have it on one side and the baofeng on the other side. It is pricey though, they offer 10percent off to first responders, a member of the military or a teachers though.

edit: will try to snap a pic and upload it here later today

Sorry long weekend... I should have posted this vid to answer the install question - just didn't see it at the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgIn4SdXZAE&t=3s

but install is very easy. They even send the key to do it so no need for any tools or anything
it's also not plastic but a nice hard metal and very stable for the month or so I've used it

I don't have the best photos at the moment because things are stored away rn but hopefully these pics give an idea:
    phone mount:
    20220920_091903.jpg
    20220920_091951.jpg
the other mount has an attachment for gopro right now
    20220920_091906.jpg
but here's baofeng with it's mount that I swap out whenever I need
    20220920_091941.jpg
    20220920_091945.jpg
    hope that helps

I’m having trouble getting the mount to fit the vent. It doesn’t want to slide in. What am I doing wrong? I tried it loose with the screws out a little and tight with the screws all the way in no matter how I adjust it it doesn’t slide in. I even hit it with a hammer and it doesn’t budge.

I'm not sure. I didn't have that issue, but I wouldn't recommend hitting with a hammer as it might damage the mount or your vents. The only tool you need is the Allen key they send with it. The only thing I could recommend is checking install vids on yt (there's alot of them) and making sure you are putting it on the right side of the vent for the year of your truck. Alpine's 2nd gen tacoma have a different slot placement than older 2nd gen tacos like mine. Also, check to make sure you bought the right mount for the yr of your truck. For instance you didn't buy the 2.5 that has a different slot placement in vents than the older gen 2 mount

The Allen wrench they gave doesn’t even fit it. It’s too big.

any updates @Diabl0 ? Hope Offroam sorted you out.

Also, thought everyone would be interested to know that there should be more solid updates on the new headunit by aucar in a few wks as they seem to be sending out models already.

What I'm still confused about is what is the difference between aucar model and the many others. There are apparently a lot of these tesla style head units that all look the same with the same features and all from china but all have different brand names attached to them like "viknav" and more. I think some, like linkswell, do have android 12 too... which aucar is on 11 now with it's new model. Very confusing since aesthetically all these units look the exact same and even use the same product photos whether it's on Amazon, aliexpress, linkswell/aucar sites etc

interesting to see the Phoenix version. I've been wondering if they had a version ever since I've seen this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl0BedOqddU&t=2s

not a very positive one mind you, but I suppose the aucar one have been quite mixed too.
I don't understand a lick of what's being said but here's aucar comparing the old vs new model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25gTBdPquvI&t=335s

Would you mind sending me a link to his profile or something? I can’t guarantee I’m going to find the right profile by searching “Sergey Kozlov” on Facebook.

Ok I need some help. I just set up a android Google pixel 7. I had an iPhone 12 max pro. Way to big and over priced. Sooo I need to change from zlink to Android auto. I hooked up Bluetooth so far but I don't know how to do anything. I'd like Google maps to display and play music from my phone. Keep it simple in the beginning. I have no experience with android auto first android ive owned other than the aucar. any info is appreciated

there is actually no need to do either of those things from your phone, you can run any nav app on the play store directly on the HU and you can simply download all of your music to the HU too

it's not the easy way out ...it's pointless to use a glitchy bluetooth connection with lower sound quality and to have to pick up your phone to control anything when you can do everything you want directly from the HU and use more advanced features as well...but you do you have fun

I just found out from Eric I can't mirror my phone it needs to be android 11 or lower. I guess I need to change my unlimited plan so I can make a hotspot
