Bought the truck with a new set of Goodyear Wrangler SR/As - now with 6k miles already & down to 8/32 (read this was an issue widely reported & this model is now discontinued)

Recently, found the spare low on tire pressure. Alas the spare was an original from 2004 and needs immediate replacement.

Looking to buy a new spare that will be around in hopefully a year/18 months when I need to buy a new set. (the spare becomes one of the new set and hopefully 1 of the SR/As is good enough to become the spare) Hope this rational makes sense.

In the past, Ive always tried to find white lettered/aggressive, but open to any good in snow, aggressive tire.

    Recommendations appreciated. Thank you

There are more options in 265/75/16 and they usually cost less than 265/70/16. They are just a hair taller, same width, but should fit your truck with no problems. Consider that size.

I'd make the spare work until you buy new tires. But many tire shops will have a decent tire that they have taken off and will sell it cheap. The spare on my 2007 was 15 years old and I found a 4 year old take off with usable tread. I paid $30 for the tire and to get it mounted. I didn't want to use one of my take-offs since they were still usable. I sold them as a set of 4 to help offset the cost of my new tires.

There are a lot of good choices for the exact tire. Not saying this is "Best", but it is what I put on my Tacoma. This is the most aggressive tire I've found in a non-LT rating.

If I hadn't gone with the Coopers I would have went with the Toyo OCs.

When you do decide to do tires, when they're being installed ask the installer to swap one of your wranglers on to the spare. Unless you've already replaced by then.
