    WTF is a horse collar tackle now?

    I thought it was grabbing the back of the shoulder pads on the neck hole. Now it seems it’s grabbing the back of the shirt up by the numbers.

    Every game, this bs drives me more and more away from the game..

    It’s been like that for quite a while now. It’s the same chance of injury for the tackled player. You pull him down by the upper back of the jersey, going to get the penalty every time.

    They're trying to eliminate getting leverage up there so tackles stop bending the player's upper body back behind his legs. It's a bit like the flags on facemasks when you barely turn the head.
