How about using some insurance $ and retrofitting OEM LED lights from 2020+? Most of those aftermarket headlight assemblies have poor lighting performance

That might be a good option will they fit in the 2016 with the same mounting points cause then I'll just tell the body shop to order them, but the lighting performance can't be much worse than than the oem headlights I can't even tell if there on half the time that's the main reason I don't want them anymore, and want to go led

They should fit the 2016 but you will need adaptors for your current OEM connectors.
@daveeasa is the man when it comes to that.

The 2020+ OEM LED headlights will be a better upgrade than most aftermarket headlights you find.

Believe it or not, one guy swapped his factory LED for halogen because he liked the looks better. I found that move mind boggling.

I have a 2016 so I can say with absolute certainty what you already know, yes they fit any 3rd gen.

Morimoto xb v2 is the only alternative assembly to consider. Read the thread @eurowner linked for full reviews and numbers. Everything you want to know is in there.

Hated my oem halogens. While most ppl would say go OEM LED, and I don't disagree with this, but I did go with Morimotos myself and I love them

That's a reputable brand though. I'd trust them as well. But there are a few aftermarket brands that are just plain garbage and I'd avoid at all costs.

OEM LED via @daveeasa harness has been a great replacement for the old halogens my 2021 came with. Definitely recommend the switch

How would that even work? They'd need an adapter to go from LED to Halogens, right? Did the guy make his own/splice wires together or something?

He needed an adapter. Dave wanted no part of it, but I have no moral hang-ups… :anonymous:

I don’t feel they even look cool. Make the truck look like an insect. Which kind of disgraces the entire truck. You can look at the truck from the rear, then get to the front and think, oh….. no… smh.

I kind of like the gimmick start up sequence then feel like it’s an illusion with more engineering / programming of that one variable overlooking and entire product. To further the gimmick YouTubers (some, not all) up playing them from a visual aspect only.

Everyones taste is different. Some go for looks. Some for function. Some both.

I went OEM LED for both trucks. Happy with both. Also happy the tundra headlights were half the price of the Tacoma ones. Why and how idk, even with the tundra ones having leveling motors in them.

Stop it, @Tacospike , I will not (repeat that to yourself every day) buy another truck just to be like you. I will not. I will not.

    ...

So little willpower with this one...

Thanks for all the input everyone I'll def go with the oem LEDs, so the only other thing I'll need for them is that wiring harness and then it will mount right up correct?
