I know some of you have had a dearth of rain. It's been plentiful over my house. I mowed my lawn on Friday. It didn't clump greatly, but you could see a healthy amount ejecting out of deck chute. Now, I am doing twice more in October, then I am done and ready for the shovel.

I am also so glad I cut my grass last Friday. I saw a glimpse of the Sun a few minutes ago and it was blinding. Now we have cloud cover once again and rain is imminent. Another day of the same thing.

The rain has moved off, but it's pretty darn soggy out there. Not even gonna attempt to mow the grass right now. Everybody driving by is just gonna have to look at it uncut

Good afternoon fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!! Lynn and I got back from our trip to Hilton Head SC - spent last week there with my sister and brother-in-law, drove to Lexington, VA yesterday and then left Lexington at 3:30 AM this morning and were home by 9:30. :D

We played a few rounds of golf, toured around a bit, hit a few breweries and distilleries and a bunch of great restaurants. Awesome trip all around.

We ended up weathering out Ian - never any evacuation order for the island although Ian was projected initially to hit somewhere north of Savannah as a tropical storm that was then upgraded to a Cat 1 Hurricane. We stocked up on food and adult beverages and were in our condo (about 2 miles from the beach) by Thursday afternoon. Overnight, the storm tracked further north before turning inland and went pretty much around us and making landfall again around Myrtle Beach. We had a good amount of rain and wind gusts in the 50s.

Took this picture on Wednesday evening at dinner.

Here's a picture taken last Friday that reflects the "devastating" tree damage sustained by our deck from the winds.

A great week but happy to be home!!

@Devious6 SC was somewhat spared by H. Ian. Luckily the storm hit land during low tide and with that situation, it must have helped minimize the damage. Despite the bad weather around you, glad you guys still had a great time.

The weekend of rain was enough to leak through my roof rack. So that was an unwelcomed surprise. It has not done that ever, to my knowledge. I had the dealer install it over the summer, to avoid this exact issue. Lol. So I emailed them this morning. Haven't heard back, but I'm hoping the will stand behind their work and seal that up better. I'm sure they are sick of me by now, but I go there/pay them assuming it will be done right, so we will see how it goes.

Hope everyone has a good week.
