Just installed the lift today, factory tires. Went 1.25" in the rear instead of 1" (no cali lean)
Was able to buy the TRD shocks for $400 shipped so I didn't buy the kit.

After a week, this is my gas mileage, did about 75 -80 ish mph . Trip from Las Vegas to San Diego. I probably still had another 30 miles to go before fully empty.

so it’s not too bad on the gas, I was averaging 20 before the lift and the tires
Best I ever got stock was 390 miles for the full tank

with the lift and tires I’m assuming around 350 -360ish

Hey OP, did you factor in the tire size difference with your MPG's?

Are you truly able to maintain 20 mpg’s? What mileage would you see on the freeway?

No I didn’t. I know it’s off by about 3mph. I don’t know the formula for the total mileage. Since I didn’t factored iM pretty happy with the mileage I guess, it is slow as a dump truck going up hill though :ballchain::ballchain:

they are still one of the best looking tires on a tacoma. the only trouble ive had with them is they hydroplane over puddles really easy. i dont do enough extreme offroading to notice a difference in any tire.

Go to tire size calculator, it'll tell you the difference in speed and give you good numbers to figure out your MPG difference. In my case, for every 100mi I travel on my odometer I've actually traveled 107mi. Divide 7 into 100 and I add 1mpg for every 14.28mi traveled. If my dash mpg was 21mpg I would add 1.5mpg. For me, doing the hard math at fill-up, it comes out pretty close. Tire size calculator also has numbers so you can figure out your true MPH at different speeds. Hope this helps.

I don't know what year Toyota started it but its my understanding that on the new Tacomas allows to go to settings and change the tire size to correct the odometer.

I did read somewhere in this forum, that you could bring in your truck to the dealership and they will adjust and calibrate, I’m going to call in and see what they can do

I hadn't heard that and I don't know how to do it, but it sure would be nice.

    Cool stuff
I went with the 265/75/r16 + 1.25” spacers because I sprained my vagina

Difference in height of tire between the two is minimal. 285s add to the high gear hunt depending on your location. They look nicer but 16s on zero or negative wheels also look nice. There seems to be no right answer on what 285s need. Different brand lifts, different wheels, different rubber etc. 265s usually require less cash and less effort to install.

2.5” OME lift, Koenig Six Shooter wheels, 275/70r17 Nokian Outpost AT, CMC, Nitro 4.88s, Greenlane aluminum sliders, CBI aluminum skid, Greenlane aluminum front bumper, Out Gear Solutions HC rear bumper, Baja SAE fogs
275s are also an option, at slightly over 32” they are exactly halfway between in size. I think they’re a great size for these trucks.

Not so much drag and bogginess, but enough sidewall for decent capability off road.
