Thank you sir, hopefully the engine will be out of the Tacoma this weekend. I got the transmission out last weekend. Weekends are for wrenching!

Got the truck out and pressure washed it this weekend. I washed a lot dirt out that was caked inside the frame. IMG_20221001_185028_380.jpg

Does the trans tail housing look like the A750F? In other words, can it be mated to an FJ cruiser manual part time xfer case?

You got that right, it is about to get interesting. I am working on getting all of the body wiring off of the lexus at the moment.

I would think so because they are basically the same transmission/series.

After seeing Denis's yard sale up close the gravity of this build really soaked in. It's a hell of thing he's going to pull off here. This guy deserves some mad props for taking it on. Can't wait to see it run!

I appreciate it bro. It is really not that intimidating if you have a plan and just do it one step at a time.

I make plans all the time.
And more often than not, somewhere in the middle of the plan. I find my self saying “I didn’t plan for this”.

I swear, sometimes I think I’m better off going into it with out a plan.

BTW, killer progress man. If you lived closer, I’d be right there helping bud. Because this is an awesome build:thumbsup:

Well, the trans from the 4.6 has one extra OD gear…

that’s great stuff!!. I had long planned for a vvti 4.7L swap (might still go that route because of aftermarket support for the 2UZ-FE & how simple the wiring is), but your project is making me rethink that. Newer 4.6 saves sooo much weight and makes more power stock. I know you’re after the AWD, but I’m psyched to hear the manual part time xfer case is an option!!

I started pulling the wires. I realized that I will have to cut a hole where I circled in red on the tacoma. I will also be transferring the steering column because there is a lot of wiring attached to it. A power telescoping steering wheel is nice also. Additionally, it will delete the physical key hole and integrate with the GXs steering wheel lock nicely.
