The problem we have has with some of the trucks that get beat on is everything flexes so dam much it’s hard to set bump stops accurately without building an engine cage. This isnt an issue for 95% of people but there will always be that 5% that tries to kill everything :)

I want that cab cage frame stiffener haha.
ditto. I gave away a sun visor to my friend. I guess I need to gut the whole interior now…

If you set it up just by setting the weight of the truck on the bumps that’s probably why. Super bumps almost compress too much on a good slap. I had to add some spacers on my fiancés truck because it was bottoming the shock.

In other news, looks like her truck is getting pivots now. 3rd time out. Whoops.

Awesome. Glad it helped, I have a feeling this is something many many many more people are dealing with but don't know it. If you really want it nice, take the Energy bushings out, and replace with a Whiteline bushing kit. Completely different and way better. You will have to drill or ream the sleeves for 1/2" bolts though.

What's better about the Whiteline kit? I bought a kit off eBay since it said it was for 4th gen 4runners.

Better quality poly compound (subjective), but it has voids engineered into it for better flex, textured inner surface to hold grease against the sleeve (only lube the inner surface, not the outer where the bushing touches the rack), and it is a one piece sleeve that is thick, so the shear forces exerted on the bolt and sleeve are well supported unlike the Energy two piece sleeves.

When you look closely at them side by side, you can tell one is a cheap bushing half assed to resemble a stock bushing since it is two piece, and the other is a well engineered and thought out solution with quality components.

metal to metal, not the truck sitting on the bumps. I took the bumps out and bumped the control arm off the frame.

Yeah its the towers flexing then. I've got the same thing with mine. Plan to tackle that when I do the cage. Its hard to get an accurate measurement but with some playing around I figured my towers move inward towards each other a little over 1/2" just with the weight of the truck sitting on the bumps. Imagine a nice hard smack lol.

Looks like a nice solution. Really curious on longbed compatibility and pricing.

I think only the top of the rail is different for the bed and cab mounts

These stiffeners were designed off a DCSB frame scan and bolted right up to the long bed

That’s awesome. I’ll definitely be adding these when I come back in to get the rear done! Paychecks need to come in faster :rain:

Anyone looking for a great set of shocks for the spring under kit? These are the exact same shocks as the the silver caged truck. 3.0 14” stroke pure race triple bypasses with custom anodizing on the resis. These were ordered straight through Harry and Jesse, and are valved great for the spring under kit. Only reason for sale is I’m going links. Stickers are rubbed off on the bypass tubes from tires rubbing but shafts are in great shape as well as seals. $1900 in East Tennessee.

It’s wild how much stiffer these make the back of the frame... I couldn’t be more stoked on these!

I'd be interested in the numbers. I bet it's night and day.
