    Good morning!

I ordered an RLD Designs cap for my Gen 2 Tacoma in mid-October 2021. I've seen the delivery date pushed out 3x now. The latest soft commitment is "October". I purchased from a local dealer here in Colorado, and I get a sense that he's as much in the dark as I am. Has anyone ordered an RLD Designs cap for a Gen 2 Tacoma between now and October 2021 and actually received their cap?

As many as I can fabricate
Builders of everything are having problems getting parts, pieces.
My buddy is a home builder and he just told one of his clients his home would be 4 months late, and another $100,000.

Thanks! I should have stated my request a little more clearly. I "build things" and I completely understand that there are both global supply chain issues and staffing issues. If there is anyone out there, that's purchased an RLD Designs cap, in the last 12 months, that has taken delivery within the last 12 months, I'd deeply appreciate a reply. I can't get any information about production or delivery timelines from anyone in the sales chain. Thanks in advance.

RLD was my #1 choice for camper shells. Trying to get your hand on one has been impossible. The last I spoke to a dealer, they said they wouldn’t take any more “back orders” as they haven’t got a reasonable fulfillment time for their current orders.

I was able to “settle” for an Rsi EVOa but ultimately canceled because for $4k, I shouldn’t be settling.

Couple days later, GFC Topper came out, I ordered it and I’m scheduled for install in December.

Sorry, I know this doesn’t help. Just wanted you to know that others share your frustration.

Actually... I appreciate the response and it's super helpful. I went through the same reasoning process you did when selecting RLD. I took a close look at RSI's product line, along with AluCab (and the usual fiberglass culprits). I wasn't aware that GFC had a topper. Thanks for that! I took a look at it this morning and it does look like a really good alternative. I've got a deposit in play on the RLD shell, I'm about 15 days shy of 12 months since my order was placed. Even given supply chain issues, I find it hard to believe that it takes 12 months to manufacture a shell, and ship it via maritime freight. My local dealer is being told some things that aren't true from a maritime shipping and import standpoint. I'm considering cancelling and if necessary letting go of the deposit. Thanks for the reply!
