So I have 34k on the 21 that we are trading in and the Wildpeaks are getting so bald. Anyone have any recs on a different tire to try when the 22 comes in two weeks.

My Wildpeaks are wearing fast than I'd hoped too. I'll be looking at these... https://www.toyotires.com/product/open-country-rt-trail/

Yeah I am shocked how fast they are wearing out as well. I am going to run the stock tires until winter most likely. Then look at something. On my work f150 last year I ran cont. terrain contacts and they were a good tire.

Are you looking for something more aggressive? Or, mostly highway?

I'm generally very happy with my Toyo AT3's. They're wearing evenly and slowly. Good all around tire.

I had Yokohama Geolandar ATG015's on my last 4Runner, and they were awesome in snow. Another very good tire, but not very aggressive.

The new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT looks really good! But, I have no experience with them. Reviews are good so far.

There's a few other very popular AT's as well. It's such a competitive market.

I have them in my work truck. They seem to hold up pretty well. Spilled water seems to bead up on them, rather than soaking in.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Unfortunately, all tires made between a certain to your span were made with cheaper compounds and less reliable. Labor. Doesn't matter the brand, they're all wearing fast and uneven. Honestly, I would recommend getting more wild peaks. Honestly, I would recommend getting more Wildpeaks.

    Just stay away from Nitto.

I've had very good luck with my Grabber AT/X, some of the best tire's I've ever owned.

Did not like Duratracs or KO2s. Old technology, overrated.

I had Geolandar G015 on my old Subaru Forester and can agree great grip and felt unstoppable in snow but less aggressive / more of a P or SL rated type tire.

Sure thing! I have 3 weeks off work starting with the most recently passed Tigerton trip. Posting updates from the road as some people expressed interest. I mainly visit waterfalls so that’s why you’ll see a bunch of waterfalls. Can’t let @Larry Dangerfield have all the fun posting cool scenic shots!

I have a loose collection of ideas and GPS coordinates but yeah just winging it. Been doing it like that for the past few years. It seems my comfort zone is somewhere between laziness and chaos so I roll with it.

I cannot steal the sentient blue hedgehog’s thunder, I only attempt to merely provide a cheap facsimile.

Sorry, for a less smart-ass answer, rugged terrain tires are becoming more popular. They are in-between mud terrains and all terrains. There are a handful out there now with the toyos being the newest that I have seen.
