Potentially. Nothing was attached to it probably 20ft from a single story house.

My guess would be a grounding rod for an antenna or satellite. Probably had ham radio tower or something there at one point.

My next unexpected project…. Changing the sump pump. This one was epoxy coated to help stop corrosion. Must have been cheap epoxy. Maybe 5 or 6 years old. Going to go with a battery backup combo this time.

Not real familiar with that so had to look into it. Says different kinds of metal will cause it? Pump is cast iron but that’s the only metal in there. Backup pump is plastic.

Living at the bottom of a hill and a big pond across the street the last 23 years I’ve upgraded my sump many times now. Comes on late March and is bone dry by end of April. Goes from every couple of days to hours and at it’s worst every 2 minutes.

So I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but never got around to it (mostly just laziness). The kitchen faucet has been leaking underneath for a while, not a whole lot, but some. Well now it has been dripping out the spout. Still put it off...

Stopped by Lowes after my haircut and they had a Moen on sale. Ahh heck, I'll get it.

    Old one

    20221004_130054.jpg

So one of the things that made me not in a hurry to do the project was there was not cutoffs under the sink. It's easy enough to fix, but yet again my laziness hung around

Please don't mind the dirty wall, it's probably hasn't been touched in a very long time.

    20221004_130947.jpg

Valves added. Just some straight compression 1/4 turn valves.

    20221004_132845.jpg

    And new faucet finally installed!

    20221004_140533.jpg

Before you ask why I put a new faucet on the old sink, we'll I have to order one. Want to go with a gray granite style, but that takes a little bit to get. Atleast I'm not leaking water now and I can cut off the water...

This is the sink I decided to go with

    Linky

Should be here the end of the week. Gonna be nice to have a deep sink again. There's gonna be some plumbing challenges, but I got some ideas. Also that garbage disposal is going. I don't even have electric going to it anymore. Not even supposed to have a disposal on septic anyways...

Made some progress and it’s almost done!

So started by adding those extra footings as suggested, and then I mulched underneath the structure so I don’t have to deal with weeds for a minute.

    59210536-08D2-4E7D-8398-D41BD8D5A608.jpg

Then I installed my floor boards. 400 GRK deck elite screws. Had to go to the store to get more right in the middle of fastening

    A1C3FC65-29D8-4959-A985-71D9CB56892F.jpg

Then I added 1x6 slat siding. I think it gives it a pretty modern look (for a wood shed at least)

Very happy with how this thing turned out. I just need to install some roof panels and apply some stain. We’re thinking corrugated plastic panels would be easiest. I’ve never worked with them before, but for a wood shed I think it should be appropriate. I could add some nailers so the fastener pattern is 24” oc? Anyway, I think structurally it’s ready for 8,000 lbs of firewood.

Gypsum board and drywall names used interchangeably? I want to use the Shluter Kerdi system for a tile shower and want to make sure I have the correct boarding on the walls before putting up that membrane.

    looks good

if your roofing is going to be plastic you might want to strap the roof with 2x4 @ 16" or 24" centres depending on your local snow load

Oregon — I’ve got a permit for 4 cord so figured I’d give it all a place to live! Just waiting for fire season to officially end.

Thank you! I’ve got some 16’ 2x4s specifically to be used as nailers. If you say 24” oc is sufficient then that’s what I’m going to do with.

24" OC will be fine as long as the roofing isn't too thin . Usually you can find some kind of span tables for proper support on your roofing manufacturer's website
