So I have been looking for the best way to lift my 3rd gen MT TRD Off-Raod Tacoma while being able to off-roading and have a smooth drive considering it is my daily and spends most of its time on normal roads. Right now I am on stock 30-inch wheels but would like to upgrade to 33's (without trimming) one day. I've seen a few different forms but I am still not sure. How can I get a true 3-inch lift to my front and rear (will not use spacers or blocks)? Either list your setups or what you have heard works! List cheap and expensive options (hoping for something cheaper lol)!

I wonder how many tire shops he had to go to before he found one that didn't say "fuck off, we're not even going to try to mount and balance those"?

Saw a guy in the Walmart parking lot with a set of 26"(?) on a Buick. I never realized that you can only turn the steering wheel a tiny bit before the wheels rub. Literally took him almost 10 minutes to do a 387 point turn to get into a parking spot! o_Oo_Oo_O

Between the risk of snakebiting it on a pothole or curb rashing it at the next gas station, I have 10 dollars that says it taps out before the I80 exit in Truckee.

Read up on lifts, ask once you’ve narrowed down some choices.

3” rides rough on Tacoma. Limits the truck to very little down travel. 2-2.5” is more ideal you’ll learn.

If it’s just for looks, just get a spacer lift.

Just install the Bilstein 6112 and 5160 level lift. 2" Front with a 1" spacer in the rear. Rides like a dream. From what I have read and what my local suspension guys have told me anything above that will ride like crap in your Taco. Make sure to replace the needle bearing and you will be good to go.

I've currently got Rough Country on my truck and I wouldn't go down that route again, but I'm planning on selling my kit when my new setup arrives later this year if you're interested in purchasing.

If you don't want to ruin your brand new truck I would look at a Bilstein, OME, or Toytec setup. They're not too expensive and they've got a pretty good reputation. Not sure what your budget is looking like but I wouldn't get any full setup (CO's, UCA's, Leaf-packs/AALs) for less than $1200.

The best advice you'll find on any suspension forum is to "Buy once, cry once" which I regret not doing and now I've got a setup that I'm not satisfied with and had to buy twice when I should've done it right the first time.
