Tuesday 10/04: First hike is directly across the road from camp at Rainbow Falls. 189 steps down then back up but totally worth it. View is obscured but reaching the bottom is more work and more dangerous than I’m willing to try today. Amazing waterfalls along the Black River here.

Sandstone Falls is the next trailhead down the road. Another amazing falls (actually several of them) and you can hike onto the rocks right up to the edge. Lots more steps here, easily over 100 up & down the cliff.

Next trailhead up the road is Gorge and Potawatomi Falls, a 2-for-1 special of sorts. Sadly the Gorge side is barricaded off like part of the platform is too dangerous. Potawatomi is partially blocked but the main viewing deck is still open and only 500 feet of walking on a paved path to get there.

At this point I found my 256GB iPhone memory was nearly consumed - been taking lots of photos & video. I didn’t even think it was possible so all my PC gear to handle such an event is back home. Had to visit Walmart, buy an SSD drive, then use their demo laptops as my own personal computer lab for about an hour. Back up to 150GB free which should handle the rest of the trip (I hope). Stopped for another pasty at Rigoni’s Bakery in Ironwood. Not bad, but sorry the other two I had were better.

Stopped at the Rize dispensary for umm supplies and curiosity. From there I was at a crossroads but luckily @pearing messaged me so I met him in Ashland at Deep Water for a couple beers and some tasty poutine.

Made camp at Frontier Bar & Campground on Hwy 2 because I’ve been there before and I know they have showers (which I am a fan of at this stage in the trip). Tomorrow if the weather holds I might not have numerous updates but possibly a very rare and difficult place to reach. Hasta manana.

You would be correct. But you can't tell the guys on the truck forum that you have hybrid tires because then they'll ask why you put Prius tires on. This way your tires are rugged.

No checking in. If I die, I die. My mom used to try and baby me with that stuff. I appreciate the concern but seriously if I checked in with people every time I did sketchy stuff everyone who knows me would die of stress.

Also to turn it around I usually say that I’m probably the most stinky and scary thing in the woods. Don’t worry about me, worry that poor old Bambi has to sniff my socks.

Sharing your whole trip on here is awesome, it looks like one hell of a trip. I've been to a fair amount of the places that you posted but not all of them so it's cool to see new stuff.

I would ground you….end of story!!

I still make my 30 year old MMA fighter check in with his location every time he stops for gas when he drives home to visit from where he lives in Colorado.

Thanks glad my posts have the Larry D stamp of approval LOL! Nah seriously thanks just trying to bring entertainment.

Ultimately when I get home everything goes on my website/blog as my own photography hobby. If you or anyone else is interested just PM me and I’ll share the link. Don’t want to post it in public as self promotion and also not to doxx myself.

I guess since I’m 39 and I don’t do MMA then I’m off the hook.

This! Your pictures are incredible and I applaud the dedication to taking and uploading them. I'm still sitting on pictures from the road trip this past March...

    What vehicle is this?

There are a bunch of Nissan Skyline GTR launch control reaction videos on YouTube that are pretty entertaining.
