Nah, I like the engine in the turd gens. It's a great engine for that truck. They just decided to let the intern program the transmission, and drop 2 OD gears in there.

If i ever come across a good condition 2005 or older tundra I'd make the switch. My brother has an 06 Tundra with the V8 and you just cant get a better sounding engine. He has a Flowmaster 40 and man that thing sounds good.

MPG sucks, but he has a lead foot.

HP and TQ are lower than the turd gen V6s, with being more recent - easier to find maintenance and diagnostics. I'm happy with the turd gen, but if it goes away I wouldn't buy it again.

That's also CAFE. Technically the Taco is a "mid" size on footprint, not a "small" size. Small needs to hit something like 40mpg. So they inflate the footprint to reach the "mid" size where they CAN meet.

 

I think the 6 is the extended cab and not a 4 door...or its like and access cab with a small rear door. cant remember
