My swimsuit was wrapped in my towel in the shape of a ball and put under the radiant heater.
Well, a F'ing giant spider (hobo spider, maybe?) planted itself on the top of MY towel ball thing.
I raised my hand and informed the Nun as I was a scared 5yo kids and crying a little.
She smacked my hand with the ruler and not sure what happened to spider.

Had a bunch of "half-priests" called the Cristian Brothers for my catholic high school years -they were worse than the nuns I had in grade school. I think they took their "horniness frustrations" on the male students

And when the nun hit you, you didn't go home and tell mommy and daddy because you'd get whacked again for whatever you were whacked for the first time.

I'm lefty. Father Fitzpatrick came in to my 5th grade class and had all the lefties stand up. He told us we were using the devil's hand but the school no longer enforced their no lefty policy. In the past (Like they did to Ronald Reagan) they forced lefties to learn how to write right handed.

Getting hit with "the pointer" was even better. Less wind resistance. I'm glad to see catholic schools were the same all over the country. I thought the ass whooping was just a New York thing.

A few left-handers say they can't see what they're writing anyway.

They also used the pointer in public schools. When I was in 7th grade, our home room teacher was a drunk who nipped from a bottle in his drawer. He would take roll and we had to not talk until the bell rang to go to our first period class.
One day I was talking to my friend next to me and the teacher freaked out and ordered the two of us into the hallway. He had us hold the railing on the top of the stairs and used a pointer on us. He hit me twice and then my friend but broke it on him his first hit. I had welts on the back of my legs from it. Looking back I would say, don’t be a teacher if you are going to be jonesing for a drink so bad at 7:30am that 2 kids talking would bother you. Years later when I was in my early 20’s I saw his name in the paper for getting caught in a prostitution sting. I hope that coxukker got herpes. :bananadance:
