Not even sure what a topper lift is. I’ll have to do some googling.

Ideally some of you guys will lend a hand with the bumper install so you can see it first-hand :)

Electric actuators that lift the topper about 18" above the bed. For extra $ EzTopperLift sells tent material to surround the gaps. In the pic below, outside temp was about 40F, inside the truck bed with my Diesel heater it was probably 75. And, since the tent portion covers the tailgate, it makes for a good spot for my pups to sleep, too!

I really love it - it's a game changer vs ground tent or RTT for me. Ground tents are a little nervous for me; they feel vulnerable. I mean, everyone has heard of a bear or bigfoot or cougar or water or bugs getting through them...and carrying my dogs up into a RTT and the risks associated with being 7' up in the air. And the expanded size of the truck (depending on mount, obviously) - and the cost of a real camper back there (several thousand to like 8k for a GFC, etc) compared to the $2000 for the EZLift (with tent material) made it kind of a no-brainer.

Dude. That is so cool. Now I feel bad about my shell, it just sits there attached to the bed all day :( lol

    HA!

If I wasn't going to camp in the truck I might still get one - if only to be able to haul bigger things back there. When I bought my washer and dryer I had to raise the shell about 8" to drive the 20 minutes home with them in the back. If I hadn't had the lift I would have had to lay them on their backs, tailgate down and all that, and straps and stuff to keep everything in.

That's a sweet looking rig right there my friend. And some meaty ass grippy grips. I'm definitely convinced I want 255's the next time I'm due for tires. I've been very consistent with tire rotations every 5K, but this time around I'm on a 7,500 mile interval as I discovered it in my owners manual. Gonna try that out for a while to see how it changes the lifespan of my tires. But yeah, I definitely want 255's, they look sharp.

What kinds of terrain have you had them in so far? I know the main point of that would be tire brand/type, and not so much size, but I'm still curious to know what your experiences have been like.

Guess my prediction was wrong. My local station went up 20 cents yesterday. It’s now 3.69. Now with this news coming from OPEC and we are not releasing from the strategic stockpile. Lord knows what happens

$3.19/gal regular 87, $2.89/gal regular 88 (E15) at a new Sheetz near me, currently. Do you have a Costco in your area?

Closest is Frederick. About 20 miles, so it cost me about $10 just to drive there.

I hear ya. I actually bought a washer and dryer before I got my bed cap and it was so easy just loading them into the bed at
Home depot. Literally the only drawback of having a camper shell is the real big stuff like that won’t fit as well anymore.

Thank you - it has lots of warts and scratches but it just keeps driving. I've been in Arkansas and oklahoma mud, mostly - no wheeling since moving to MD. I think size does change things, yes, thatswhatshesaid. I have this video of me following a double-locked Jeep up a muddy trail in the ozarks. He also had wildpeak MTs, but he was traditional 33 x 11.5 I believe, compared to mine which are essentially 33 x 10. Now - couple of things...in the SilverShamoo i was able to use the wheelbase to keep both sets of tires out of the mud at the same time - something the Jeep couldn't do. But it shows the tires certainly went very well. Like easy-peasy. Also a vid of a splash and drive-out of mud in OK. I'd like to try them on sand, though I think it'd cost me like $100 for a permit to drive on sand here in MI. One regret - I should have tried these first in 2wd LO range, just to see what happened :)

The skinniness of the tires shows up pretty well in a couple of these vids.

I have some snow experience with them in/around OKC but nothing worth showing. They did fine, but not great. If I lived in a place with deep snow i'd have these siped. If I lived in a place like I live and dove more than 3 miles to work, I'd get proper winter tires.

And the jeep vid - My friend is in the jeep; and we both cheer and give eachother shit about jeep vs toyota. The video is less than half the actual attempt of his jeep, I edited it down because he kept kinda doing the same thing. At once point, the first time he bounced hard left, someone came and got his son out of the jeep. Then he tried a couple more times (as on the vid) before making it. At the end you can hear me start a shout with a 'suck it trebek!' while the jeep driver throws his arms up celebrating my making it up the portion easily.

A muddy hole. It was my second attempt - first one I had to get a tug to get out because I was too timid on the skinny pedal (hence the "there ya go!" at the end).

Ooh! found one of me driving through something small, but 2wd.

As an aside - anyone have a trusted business w/ loading dock or forklift where I can have the bumper delivered?

Really just a place i can pick it up. I don't mind driving - but am looking along I95 corridor I guess. If I need to go west that's fine too. The thing is coming from South Dakota - so as long as it gets most-anywhere in the region I'll figure it out.
