I got my SPC UCAs installed this weekend and worked on getting the 35s installed. Good news is, with the SPCs ball joint in the farthest forward position and the lower cams set for max caster (max forward position), the 35s cleared the cab mount at full suspension compression. I had to bend flat the pinch weld and trim some of the fender liner in the front and rear.

Bad news is (and this is probably do to my setup), the upper ball joint is touching the coil spring a little at full droop. I am running the stock TRD Pro Fox coilovers with the Wescott 1.5" lift. I also installed an additional 1/4" spacer on top for a full 2" lift. With this setup, I have more down travel than most, which is why the ball joint is touching the spring.

When I was aligning the front end, I ran out of camber adjustment on the SPCs. I was at +0.5 deg on both sides with the ball joints all the way in on the SPCs. I had to back off a little on the front lower cam to get the camber at 0.0 deg. Caster was ok at 2.0 and 2.1 deg.

The truck is totally drive-able like this, but I'm going to make some changes to improve things. I'm going to get a cab mount chop (I always thought I would end up needing one but I wanted to see how things would end up without one). That will allow me to run the SPCs in the middle castor position, the lower cams both in the farthest out (max negative camber) and dial in the camber with the SPC camber adjustment. My goal is to eliminate the ball joint touching the spring and to get about 3.0 deg of castor.

Thanks for the info. I was going to do the exact same setup with mine, TRD pro suspension with westcott lift kit. A limiter strap might help with the clearance you have between the ball joint and the spring

Been eyeing this tire size for the future. Did you re-gear?

If not, how is the driving experience with stock gears?

I have not re-geared yet, but I plan to.

You can definitely feel the difference in power between the 35s and my daily driver 32s, but it's not bad. I do have the KD-Max XT+ tune, so that helps.

    Enough for now
Great photos, now I'm torn between the Yokohama Geolandar M/T and the Mickey Thompson Bajas. Damn man the Baja Boss' look incredible and the unique size is a huge selling point

I haven't heard anything bad about the Bajas - seems like a lot of guys that used to run Wild peak AT3W and have migrated over are loving the switch.

For having a pretty aggressive tread pattern for an AT tire, they are quiet on the road. With a re-gear, they wouldn’t be bad for daily driving. I’m going to use these for off-road use only, I have Toyo Open Country AT3s in a 265/75R16 for daily driving.
I’m getting a CMC next week and then redoing my alignment. After that, I’ll take them off-road. Should be a lot of fun.

I haven’t had them off-road yet. Doing a CMC tomorrow and then I’m going to redo my alignment. I’ll plan an off-road trip after that and report back.

I was torn between the same two tire brands. My friend has the Geo M/Ts and I liked his tires. In the end I went for the Mickey Thompson for the 3 peak rated tire and I figured the rolling resistance with the skinny would be better. These Micky Thompson Tail Boss ATs look very close to a Mud Tire.

I really want to try these on 16x8 0ET wheels at stock height. I'm almost positive they will rub a ton.

I took it to Cleghorn, a local trail that really tests the flex of the vehicle. I aired down to 20 psi. Tires performed awesome. I had a tiny bit of rubbing on some plastic that will be easy to fix with some minor trimming. Tires drive nice on road. Overall, I’m very happy with the Baja Boss AT.
