That sucks! If the tire is irreparable, it could be an excuse to get some nice all-terrains. ;)

I was half tempted to slash this guy's tires today. Parked me in at a job site. Not a co-worker, or even involved with the project I was working on. And then, you add the fact that it's a brodozer. I had to interrupt a meeting to get him to move.

I blurred out his plates, because he seemed like a decent guy and I got the impression they pretty much told him to park there.

It’s your work truck, just gently back up until your bumpers lightly touch, then increase the throttle until you are able to move his truck. Don’t stop until he’s so far off the parking lot that he actually has to do real truck stuff.

    No.
Just whipped in at the fireworks stand.
The tire light came on and I was about to enter the ramp for I-94. Thought the giant parking lot was better than a on ramp. It was Sunny and dry today. This always happens to me at 3am in a rainstorm.

Always a bummer. At least you got the cool steely for a spare. Mine is the buyer ugly one with the square center.

good excuse for some better winter tires.

Wednesday 10/04: Fairly slow day as far as photo sharing is concerned. First stop was at Corrigan’s Lookout. Amazing views and a short hike. Put the drone in the air and flew over that nearby lake, should be some good footage later.

Drove all the way to Rouse Falls in Iron County. Kind of a big deal to me personally because my previous Subaru wouldn’t have made it (and if it did it wouldn’t be happy at the end). This is why I’m glad I chose the Tacoma. Disappointingly though colors are past peak already in much of Iron County. I missed it? Weird.

Anyways, Rouse Falls is a unique one for sure. Not much water flowing but it’s a perfect cubic-sheared rock face about 20 feet high. Most others are volcanic or shaped by eons of water. Not this one.

Spent most of the afternoon driving forest roads and muddy two tracks in the Iron County Forest looking for better access to that very difficult falls. No dice, it’s damn near impossible to get back there without a quad. Mud and private property are big barriers. Ended up driving west to Brule and stopped at Lenroot Ledges which I though was something bigger but is mostly just rapids. Nice area though.

    31414FB1-A029-4EC6-905B-37AAAC7F4EB6.jpg

At a weird crossroads again. Either I go north to Minnesota or back south into Wisconsin at familiar places. Decided to push north into new areas to me. Currently at the laundromat because I’m out of clothes and then off to camp at Pattison State Park as I know it well and you can easy reserve online.

If you push up into Minnesota and start heading north towards the Canadian border there is some big beautiful territory up there. Absolutely beautiful sights right off the main drag that follows lake Superior as well as some great stuff if you venture inland.

Also there are quite a few rustic, free, first come first served campsites up there.

    Ah nope.
I was out at Toyota earlier getting some routine maintenance done before this road trip to Asheville on Friday. Saw they had a couple Lunar Rocks w/ Manual. Got me thinking for a few minutes haha.

but nope no real plans to sell anytime soon.

I’m still dumping money into this thing by the week. Installed some Morimoto headlights and ditch lights a couple of weeks ago, and I’m currently sitting in the garage getting ready to install an RCI Transmission skid plate and catalytic converter guard.

Huge truck upgrade post fellas... Some may recall that my truck sustained considerable damage in Tigerton. I lost 3 of the 4 bolts fastening one of my mudflaps on and had to remove said flap. What to do? :der: Get 3 new bolts and put that stock flap back on? Pfftt! Why would I do something so sensible when I could spend $140 on a new set of better flaps?

Installation was super easy and I think they look pretty hot. They're a bit stiffer than I had expected, but they'll definitely bend and not crunch and sound like you just lost a quarter panel when you roll off of a rock.

    PXL_20221005_221240080.jpg

So after the next outing when you guys are talking about your lockers and winches and sliders, I'll be sure to give a full report on the performance of my mudflaps.

That is, until you rip one off backing over a rock! :D

Looks good! We'll have to compare them to the Rokblokz, if I have any left by the next time we hang out. I'm down to 1, but I suppose I can probably reinstall the other rear one of these days.
