Anyone have recommendations for a proper 4x4 alignment shop in Reno or surrounding areas?

I'm near Tahoe City, the alignment shop in Truckee was having a hard time with my truck due to the lift (they usually work on OE vehicles) and said I should find a shop that specializes in 4x4s.

Ayres or Nates Precision are the only 2 I recommend and personally use as well.

Made some poor decisions this weekend and took my truck on a trail that taco's probably don't belong on. Took some body damage to the passenger door as a result. Just left my local body shop in Fallon, Crown Collision, and they want ~$3200 to fix it.

Figure for that price I'll just rep the battle scar. Anyone have suggestions for body shops in the Reno area that aren't known for bending people over? I'm not a auto body guy either so maybe that's not really a bad price? That cost isn't to replace the door, but for them to undo the pinch welds and replace the outer door shell, paint, blend and touch up the tiny bit of fender that got knicked.

Crown is the last place on earth i would take my truck. I can bend your ear for hours about how bad they are.

@dezert.taco I'd hit up a place like Rancho Toyota recycling down in Sacramento and see if they have the door you need. Swapping components over from the current door to a replacement door really isn't that hard or time consuming and should be much cheaper.
We did exactly this with our 2nd gen. PO had a big dent that went from the front passenger door into the rear access cab door and they had a pair of doors for something like $500 IIRC and paint was in better condition than our existing doors too. Took the wife and I about an hour and a half to swap both doors.

Doesn’t look too bad. The door looks perfectly aligned still. If the dent doesn’t bother you too much you could tape off the lower doors and do a coat of bedliner which would probably hide it pretty good. Or see if a dent place could just pull it and then do the bedliner to take care of the paint.

I'd do exactly this. I've been searching them along with other recycling/scrap yards to find a BBP right quarter panel for SB. No luck yet, but I buffed it out pretty nicely by myself so not too concerned. If you can replace, replace yourself. Get a few different quotes as some will price different depending on insurance vs non. Get an itemized quote so you can spot the bs they throw on there if they do. I was able to take the panel off and hammer it out (literally) by myself, but doors are a different animal. I personally wouldn't worry about it until I happened upon a new door. It adds character

If the door opens and closes and the seal seems good still I'd clean up the scratch so it doesn't rust and move on but my truck's paint is far from perfect so my opinion here might not be the popular one.

I've never been a fan of Crown either, glad I'm not the only one!

I thought about PDR but the rock was fairly course and left some deep scratches where it's scuffed, I think it will need body work to disappear. But I will keep this as I have a few other dents I need popped out, thank you!

Thank you, I will definitely give them a call and see what they have and say, especially for something around that price range instead, that would be sweet but agreed certainly not bad work wise. I found one for $1200 but it was pretty far away, almost not even worthwhile but I would prefer this over all other options for sure.

I also want to hammer it out but the shop here said there's a chance it affected what they called a "intrusion bar" and that part of it is likely located near where the dent is. I need to get a few more quotes from other shops but if their prices are anything like Crowns that will likely be the way.

I didn't think so either, door opens and closes fine. Wind noise seemed the same, it just kills me to look at lol but certainly is a viable option!

I think all is good, body shop said the door line doesn't quite match the fender line but I couldn't tell. Lol I can handle scratches, mines pretty tore up as well but it's the dents that get to me.

Call up Nates Precision for an estimate. They use our plates for the job. I'd guess they're in the $200's

I've thought about doing one myself, but with my luck I'd probably set the truck on fire
