Yeah there is a hose that shoots back over to the evap system.....
low pressure so its just clamped on.....

pulling that is easiest safest way to check for moderate fuel flow....

Yeah, that's what it seems like it could be. But it doesn't make sense that the oil looked clean only a few days before after driving it for a while after the oil change, and then it only started looking progressively worse and worse after the no-start. Makes me think something really bad could have happened.

Yeah, I've checked both coolant levels, and they're exactly the same. I'll make sure to change the oil first. I'm glad so many of you guys have said that because I probably would've kept trying to get it to start without doing that which wouldn't have been so wise. Yeah and I don't think a head gasket leak would have caused no-start because it still started off of fuel in the intake.

Your worst nightmare would be a crack in the head.....
.....those leak weird......on and off again....takes right conditions....

gasket leaks are simple......engine leaks worst right after parking....hot coolant excaping.....
In the end no hot restarts without pulling plugs and drying them off......

But engines, blocks, and heads a plenty for these........it boils down to your resolve.....

Would you rather have payments, or drive some other piece of junk.......

It really would. I hope it doesn't come down to something like that. It'd be a ton of work and I still have my other car to fix with a blown head gasket/possible warped head. We will see I guess. I'll change the oil and then start with the FPR and go from there. Thanks, guys! I'll let yall know what happens with it this coming weekend.

So I got a reman block and new heads......

    All together......just south of $4k.......

I had a slow leak......but what killed mine is bad harmonic balancer going out destroy the woodruff key slot....ruining the crankshaft.....

BE CAREFULL WHO WORKS ON YOUR TRUCK......someone most likely stabbed that HB incorrectly/off..they got in a hurry with an impact.....

Man yeah, that sucks I'm sorry. If it comes down to that kind of money for my truck I'm just gonna sell it, I haven't had it for long enough that it feels like it's worth it to me to keep it. Not sure what money I'm willing to spend on it right now but it's not so much lol.

Thanks for the pic I will check that out as soon as I get the chance.

Does the oil have a fuel smell? Trying to start on a no start situation can easily wash down the cylinder walls with fuel and dilute the oil.

When I checked before I couldn't really tell because everything smelled like fuel since I was basically covered in it. I tried to test if the oil had gas in it by lighting it on a paper towel but it didn't seem like it had increased flammability. That probably isn't a great test though. I will have to try smelling it again once I get back and am not covered in gas.

Sounds like you could have some other problems, but it's possible your TPS contacts are corroded and the humidity triggers a failure, hence why pressing the throttle makes it work (moves the wiper)

Pressing the throttle didn't have an effect on starting, but I do think that moisture definitely caused some type of electrical problem.

I think this could've been it.

My dad is awesome and was actually able to change the oil last night, and he took the fuel line of the FPR as well. When he took the fuel line off the FPR, tons of fuel shot out with pressure without even cranking the engine. I think there was probably way too much fuel, and it washed into the oil as you said. Once he changed the oil he came back later last night and just tried to start it and it started up. Must've been some type of electrical issue from the rain, and then trying to start it too much put gas in the oil. We will see if the oil starts looking bad again though. For now, I just need to work on sealing off the cab better to prevent future electrical issues.

Is it a concern that gas is able to wash down the cylinder walls? Shouldn't it be harder for that to happen?

If you got water in charcoal filter.....that could screw with the fuel reg......maybe....
Mines vulnerable at back edge of hood.....

I've seen where that canaster can cause an engine flood at startup....
too much fuel at start......the egr....vsv....
.....hate those little freakin valves and all that crap......

Not sure how, but there was a ton of water in the fuel tank. Last weekend I was driving around and it was working fine all day until at one point I parked it and it did the same thing it did before. This was the first day I really drove it since the initial problem. I ended up hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to the FPR, and when I bled the gas from there, I noticed water droplets in the fuel in the clear bleed line. I drained the tank, cleaned it out, and then filled it with gas again. Now it has been good since then. Not sure how so much water got in, but it was a ton. Here is a picture of a little bit of gas I siphoned out just to see how much water was in the tank. That seems like a crazy amount of water for how little of a sample that is. I don't see how that much water could get in.[IMG]
