This is awesome.. love that mount lol. I've only hunted a couple years now, and have always wondered what I'd do if a white deer presented itself within range. Seen alot of people talk about letting them walk and shaming people who would shoot one. And maybe I haven't been in the woods long enough to see any white deer, or see any deer (besides one with spots lol) that was just "too pretty" to shoot/eat. I have to imagine I'd shoot the absolute shit out of a white one and it'd be an awesome trophy just like that mount :anonymous:

Other than the color its just a deer...the color is incredibly rare in some places somewhat common in others. I wouldnt hesitate to shoot one

I would absolutely shoot a white one or pie bald, given the opportunity. I’ve been hunting for 37+ years and never seen a live one :D

I’ve only seen two bucks with a drop tine, I was fortunate enough to kill one of them with a bow in 2003 and my 9 year old son got the other one last year. His has a double.

That's what I told Cole when he shot that one last year. I said I know people who have hunted many years and never seen one. We are blessed!!!

Before you shoot an albino deer, check your local laws on such animals. I’ve been lucky enough to see a few albino deer however, they are protected in Illinois.

I had no idea, wonder why? Like Will said, they are the same as any other deer except for the color.

That makes no sense. Guarantee whoever made that law doesn't hunt :anonymous:

Typical Illinois law, we have a decent deer herd but piss poor deer management laws. Most land owners have they’re own management practices as far as deer quality.

I don't think I'd shoot it, can't really explain why. Something magical about an all white deer roaming around in the woods, I kind of feel the same way about piebalds tho not as strongly. That being said, the only way I see them is through other people posting mounts lol

I definitely see that, and is why I've always wondered if I'd take one or not. I think the only way I'll know is if one steps out lol. :fingerscrossed:

According to CJ Winand (deer biologist) pie-balds and albinos are genetic anomolies (obviously) and should be removed from the herd.

Definitely, I'd drop a piebald in a heartbeat, no questions asked; an all white one though, something fairytale-ish about it, and I'd just have to be presented with the opportunity I suppose to know if I still think its magical in that moment, or if I'm really dreaming about deer steaks in that tree lol.

Seeing pics of them, its magical and out of this world, like a visit from a dead family member type of feeling I'd think. Seeing mounts of them with their butthole as a centerpiece, its really funny and I'd love to have an all white deer mount lol.
