Tacoma Vs. Rivian

I have a Tacoma and a Tundra. Hence my participation in Tacoma and Tundra forums.

I don't join Rivian or Landy forums to discuss my Tacoma.

 

But you're commenting in a Rivian thread on a Tacoma forum. Isn't that a 'do as I say not as I do' situation?

I’m a little bitter I didn’t sell my IPO shares at $179. I bought more at $21 a few months back to even it out but still, kinda salty I didn’t take the quick profit and run.

He can say what he wants it's his opinion but it's odd he wants no talk of Rivian in a public forum about Rivian but yet he comments in it and talks about Rivian. Kinda odd.

 

It’s easier to win an argument when you have “disqualified” others from arguing with you.

 

The thing with all of these companies, is they are luxury vehicle manufacturers before they were vehicle manufacturers. Where every legacy manufacturer was an automobile manufacturer, before they ever built a luxury automobile. Look Hyundai, took them decades to build a luxury model, before they sprouted their Genesis brand.

I expect Hyundai to out live all of these guys, including Tesla. Even if Hyundai is only building EV when the others disappear.

Tesla is a little different, but they are more of a PR, influencer, lifestyle brand. Than they are an automobile manufacturer. With heavy support from investors whether it be Tesla, or SpaceX. Tesla has to make money.

 

1/4 of Tesla's profits are from selling carbon credits and have nothing to actually do with their automobiles. Their fit and finish shows they aren't a great car manufacturer but they are helping really push the industry forward.

With the amount of Teslas we see on the road in SoCal it'd be hard to say they aren't an automobile manufacturer since they just haven't caught on as much in the rest of the country.

 

Obviously they are an auto manufacturer, but they sell more dreams and BS than autos. Example carbon credits.
