    Hello everyone,

A few weeks ago, I took my 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport DCLB to my dealer to get a service done (checks and oil change). The same day I got my truck back, I was on the highway and was hearing a weird noise that sounds like wind or a high pitched sound coming from the passenger side. I really dont know what it could be. Does anyone have any ideas??

Please see this video posted on YouTube to better understand the noise I am talking about:https://youtube.com/shorts/dtvOK4Q2gyo?feature=share

My 2023 TRD OR assess cab does it too. Noticed it day one driving home from the dealer. I’d already heard about the Tacoma wind noise, so wasn’t surprised. I find it’s most noticeable in cooler temps (denser air). On warmer days I don’t hear it.
I’m not even going to worry about . Turn the music up

So I found the problem and was able to fix it.
I took off the little triangle shaped trim piece on the inside of the door to access the bolts holding the mirror. I loosened the bolts and I then took off the mirror from the outside. On the triangular shaped part of the mirror that gets bolted to the side of the truck, I covered the perimeter with weather strip that has one sided tape on it. Re-attached the mirror and the problem was completely solved!

I was about to say that maybe your truck was cursed with the Wailin Banshee but thankfully it was just the mirror.

I picked mine up Saturday and it made that noise from the minute I got on the highway. It’s going to the dealer tomorrow for something else, but I’m going to mention the wind noise. If not I’m doing this 100%, it is the exact same sound.

Toyota must of changed something on these later gen3 trucks. I don't get any of that from my 2020. There are certain times when hitting high crosswinds on the highway at speeds of 65 mph, I believe it's my tonneau cover. I've had it off a few times under the same conditions, and zero wind noise.

Yeah it’s not a big issue but it’s quite annoying. I doubt they’ll do anything about it but good to know there is a fix.

Just to give this a bit of an update, it was taken back to the dealer of purchase and they added the weatherstripping like in this post and it’s completely gone.

Exactly where OP said it was. They took the passenger side mirror off added weather stripping exactly where OP said and it was instantly gone.

Like I’ve said twice already I didn’t do it. The tech said Toyota has kits for this kind of stuff. If it’s under warranty just take it to your dealer and get them to fix it lol I was in an out in under an hour and in the tech knew exactly what I was talking about as soon as I said it.

Yeah, right 1h ... 45mins drive one way, 3h at dealership later: have to order part, come back again.

Would be helpful to share the work order with part number etc.. My Toyota service guys here (no matter which Toyota dealership I chose) seem not to be the most knowledgeable and solution-oriented folks. Looks like one has to tell them exactly how to fix things. Guess I am not the only one with that problem.
