Is this a dealer add-on? If so, there should be really no significant price difference from the factory options and the tire upgrade.

Most of the time the dealer charges full price but you don’t get the old tires and wheels back to sell.

In most cases you are better off just buying another set of wheels and tires on your own.

However google told me it’s a set of Duratrac tires.

    https://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/details/Tacoma/2019/4086/Wheels/TB5610/143436

Based on the stock Goodyears and the Duratracs the difference in price is about $10 per tire so $40 total.

This came up before in a thread and my conclusion was that it was a dealer specific option with dubious value.

Yeah definitely don’t pay for an additional set. Now, you wouldn’t get full price back for the originals, but I wouldn’t let them pocket the $.
My buddy did this when he bought his Tundra, the dealer played dumb. He wouldn’t go through with the deal until they greatly reduced the price or gave him a new set. I think they ended trying another couple of moves. They tried to give him a used set after he badgered them for a while. I think they ended up giving him money back. Of course this was few years ago when you had leverage of a glut of inventory.

Dealer does everything for profits, I would advise against it unless you're really set on driving away with a new truck on better tires.

This is the deal....This dealer sells at MSRP plus a $899 protection package which is window tint, pulsing brake light and value protection...? BUT.....They insist on adding $2500 of port installed accessories, only one that is required is the SET Toyoguard at $699. Do I really like this deal NO but it's better than just paying $5000 market adjustment and not getting jack squat for it.

The tires are installed at port and you do not get to keep the factory tires at least that's the way I read it. This is on a Pro so it already has everything I want on it. Just trying to come up with the other $1800 in add-ons. Deposit was only $250 and it's full refundable.

Your call whether you want to be taken advantage of or not, sounds like the dealer is just exploiting the market.

Personally that’s a deal I would run from. If you are content with making the deal then other opinions won’t matter.

I have other dealers I'm working with trying to find the truck I want....I can back out if a better deal comes along. It looks like it will be months before this dealer gets an allocation anyway. They are pretty small. That said it's the best deal I have found on a Tacoma Pro yet. Part of the problem is I'm in the SET region and they seem to pile the options on every Pro I have seen. All the out of state dealers I have spoke with either won't sell out of state or add market adjustments of $5000 or more.

Did find one dealer that sold at MSRP but their list was over a years wait....IE Pretty much no chance of getting a 23 and I'm not interested in a 24 at this point.

The original point of this post was to ask if anyone knew what tire come with the upgrade package.

There is a TRD offroad on a lot closer to the house....It has the upgraded tires on it. I'll just ride by there and see what they are. Since these are installed at the port I figure they are all the same. That lot has a $2500 Market adjustment plus $2500 required port options.

Down here in FL (SET) the Predator pkg is common. The tire/wheel combo it comes with is fitted with Duratracs.

    few things here and there.
IMHO, I’m unsure if the value will be there coming from the dealer. Also, I’m unsure if you’ll get great brand selection.

If you did however just want an “all around” food set, id recommend the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I love mine.

From experience buying 2 different 4runners in the last 3 years, the 1st one the dealer put OEM pro wheels and Duratracs on it for the wife against my advice, but its what she wanted.
we got charged extra. Hated the tires, noisy and vibrated. the over all look of the package left us both a little disappointed. they performed decently in all weather and surfaces.
on the second, we kept the factory wheels and tires.
Put some methods and Nitto Ridge Grapplers on it. Now, those are some great tires. The look is exactly what we wanted and on an upcoming trip to NM we will test em out off road a bit. I cant see how they would perform poorly.
I sold the takeoffs for $800 on craigslist to a cool dude that is fixing up an older 4R.

yeah dealker will make up BS to add an extra 500-800 here and there. biggest bullshit is the fucking Permaplate ( sound like something for the license plate) but they say is a spray coating in the seats so it does not stain. is $800 and they "cannot remove it" because it already applied to the vehicle. thing is that they don't do shit, and if the seat get stained and the customer comes back they pay $200 to a detailer to clean the seat. the other big BS is that flashing light that i can asure you says not for street use.

The "upgraded" tires suck. No wet asphalt traction whatsoever. I will never buy this set again when it's time to replace them.

Toyoguard isn't a bad deal though. It gives you 2 free oil changes and 4 free tire rotations after the free 2 year maintenance ends. Plus an exterior paint sealant.
