Long Range Automotive - Fuel Tank 34 gallon

Just filled my tank for the first time since the spring.

 

When the low fuel light turns on you've still got about 8 gallons or so in the tank.

I haven't seen any "fix" for this.

 

As a rule of thumb I just note how many miles I'm at when the light comes on and know that I've got about 100 miles more to go before I'm out.
I still carry a spare 5gal. can on my bumper though...

Nowadays I put stabilizer in when I fill up. I don't think I've put more than 600 miles on the truck this year.

 

I feel this. My taco only gets driven when i go to Windrock once a year and to the grocery store from time to time.

Mine hasn’t been driven in just over a year…

Well, more than out of the garage, around the court and then back into the driveway.

 

Sooo is cruiserbros still selling these or do we have to go through LRA direct now?

 

I bought mine recently thru Shaffer's and picked up at their shop. Curiser are no longer selling taco tanks.

 

How much did it run you at Schaffer's?

Just ordered this. Pulling my camper I have to refill every two hours. Really looking forward to the larger tank and fewer stops on long trips.

If you were just worried about the correct emptiness couldnt you just bend the factory level float thing to match the tank?

 

Totally forgot to follow up on this. Did they handle the install, or did you do it? Definitely interested in this.

 

Recently ordered my tank thru RPM Offroad garage. Looking like an end of august/early September shipping date from down under.

 

Mine finally got here & was installed last month. It messes with the gas gauge, seems when its on E there's really like 6 gallons left & it stays on full for awhile when you're driving. It delivers as promised in terms of additional range I'm very happy with it, still getting used to thinking all is still well when on E. I did have my check engine light come on for an evap leak that I'm sure is related due to the timing of it. I replaced my clutch shortly after & it went away (I assume due to the shop rebooting the cpu) so IDK but I assume it'll come back (?) & I'll have to take it in.

 

What’s the average range with the new tank now?

 

I can go +500 miles on a single tank

 

^^^same without the camper. With it I can drive three hours. It’s 4K pounds dry plus all my stuff for context.
