Hot dang! Kaulig got Chandler Smith! I bet KB was involved in this move. This is why they moved AJ to Cup, to make room for Smith. Nice catch!

I saw one with a 6th gen photo as the cover photo. Comments ranged from the penalty probably being related to number position, all the way to it probably being something related to keeping it from catching on fire.

Apparently it pays to be a Hendrick driver. NASCAR took away the points penalty to Byron and opted to increase the fine instead.

He’s the golden child at HMS…. why not?!

Plus, NASCAR screwed the pooch on that anyway. If they caught it when it happened we wouldn’t be talking about it. I’m sure Rick dug into his change pocket to pay the fine

I mean, it happened after Chase won and was assured to go to the next round. Lol

A few additions to make me feel cool.
A driver getting hot headed and doing something boneheaded is not comparable to modifying a part of the car that they have been instructed to not modify. I am not a Byron fan but in most cases these should be fines in my view and not points as it is a driver who is alone responsible for the issue and hence it should cost them and not the entire team. Byron did punt the 11 but the 11 also retaliated also under caution and the only reason the 24 didn't spin is because he was expecting it. Denny spun because the 24 came out of no where and probably would not have spun had he not let his guard down under caution. All in all the 11 came back through the field and had a decent finish. You can argue "he would have won" all you want but that's not something anyone can claim. Everyone will have a different view and I think the 24 would still have made the round of 8 had this upheld it but if it works out that he would have missed it and he wins the championship. Man that is going to be a can of worms!! Overall I think NASCAR or the review board should have upheld the penalty but really everyone should be pissed a NASCAR for fumbling the entire situation. When it happened the 11 should have been returned to his spot prior to the incident and the 24 held for a lap or you park the 24 and let the 11 play out the hand he was dealt and restart where he ended up.

Not the same type of penalty. One is blatant and engineered intent to circumvent the rulebook to gain an advantage. The other a driver losing his cool and doing something stupid and then admitting to it live on TV. Really, if the 11 has so many problems with so many drivers he might want to take a look at how he is driving other people and perhaps change his style a little. If the whole world thinks you are an asshole perhaps it's you. Denny said "that's just racing" when he dumped Chase at the paperclip in the playoffs and NASCAR did not care. It all comes around. Now, I am not condoning what the 24 did under caution but it really was not outrageous enough to cost someone their season. Once again you HMS haters cannot think rationally.

Oh 100%. I fully expect HMS to get caught soon enough. Kinda like Harvicks magical flexing rear window from the 10 win season. They all tinker and play in the gray. If they are winning they are anyway. The speculation on all of the 9's road course success was about 100lbs of bondo on the backside of the nose at road courses.

LOL, if we were in the 3rd grade you would be killing it bro! How about this, all jokes aside. How do you feel about the 24 points penalty being overturned?
