Nope, I would never have guessed, unless the hammering out made it somewhat flat enough. Good stuff either way. I think the next mod meet up day I'm going to need to get all my fluids done too... I haven't changed a single one (besides oil) and I'm sitting right around 70k miles.
@tacobell007 can do it for you like he did mine.
Not sure for longevity on riding on the needle bearing, but it should be ok for a little bit. Again, I did that too, rode on that for a little until I had time to get it swapped out.

OOF. I mean...now that I think about it, I'm in the same boat other than coolant - and that wasn't by choice.

Anyone thinking of mod meetup days before the winter or are we thinking spring? I know we'll have a lot of spring maintenance for myself and others. Just me - ATF, Brake fluid, oil change, front and center (and probably rear) diff oils (OOPS that's a lie I have done my rear diff oil), spark plugs. I'm happy to gang up and be oil covered once :D

Definitely at least one fall mod day at Jared's and I'll be looking to do another post aoaa pre Thanksgiving.... occupied with AOAA right now so haven't really been planning anything else:bananadead:

A fluids day is a great idea, I'm in and due for about all at this point...minus diffs and transfer case.

60k miles is a good mileage to do a full transmission fluid flush. A little over is not going to hurt though.

Where are the two keyed powered locations in my Third Generation, that you don't have so i can have my grille lights come on with the daytime running lights?

    The list is growing.
Isn’t what most of owners do is a drain and fill. A true flush requires a machine that does exactly that. Replaces all the fluid including the torque converter well.

If you want those to come on together, I would just get one of the plug and play DRL tap. you might be able to ask the MESO crew to buy one separately.
If not there is the R4T one. If that one doesn't fit your bill, I believe @daveeasa makes them.

I think my diffs and TC are probably highest priority

I'm doing just drain and fills. You CAN flush without a machine, it's kinda hinky, and in one of the methods I read you turn the truck on but has to be for less than 5 seconds or something like that.

I figured drain and fill and then probably get onto a 30k drain and fill schedule it should be fine. It doesn't look difficult at all, and I can get to it with the skid on there. I'll be using valvoline and not the WS stuff from 'yota.

I wouldn't advise it - it caused hyperflash of the turn signals. I have a video somewhere too, but it actually caused the left (only the left) to come on and stay on (not blink like a signal) with the brakes.

@AwesomeLaw68 Do this. Do you have the LED DRLs?

I have the tool if you want to borrow for diy but going to @tacobell007 is a win. He's done a bunch and is a great mechanic.

You can drive on your existing needle bearing until it goes bad and then a little more until it's fixed. If you need it. When you start having vibes schedule it up. I was lifted for years and only did my needle bearing ecgs swap when my seal was leaking at 200k ish.

Wasn't going to be there twice was the idea but I fudged up the first seal and it leaked so I got to do it twice

Yes, for a DIY person, a drain and fill is much easier to do, but thankfully I have access to a transmission fluid exchange machine at my work (not even to do my own truck, since mine is a 5 speed ).

If you feel the tell tale on/off/on/off pulsing kinda vibe that goes away in 4wd just plan on swapping it when you can. I felt mine pretty early and had it out within a couple weeks, when we popped it out it was definitely on its way out but still very intact (and I typically drive a hefty amount)
