    My truck was stock when I bought it. Other than the loss of MPG I think it drives better as well......

    Feels way more planted with the upgraded suspension, I prefer the better visibility.

    Are there trade-offs? For sure but I'd much prefer my truck the way it is then stock.

    The Tacoma is a terrible tow vehicle (stock or not) and I knew that so towing was never my plan.

    You are correct that every upgrade or mod has a positive effect and a negative effect and that you can't always expect to have it be able to do everything, especially once you start making changes.

    Utah resident here. You can't lift these trucks high enough to get around dragging ass on rocks out here. There are limitations to the suspension set up on these...even with a lift.

    Well the weak point of a 3rd gen Tacoma is the wheelbase, too long for some obstacles. Stock, the departure angle sucks. I experienced it for myself.

    The Tacoma does just fine on some trails…on others it sheds and breaks body parts. There are some places I would not take my Tacoma.

    Utah has many trails, and some will cause said shedding. If you can narrow down the type of trails, I can give you some setup recommendations.

    Actual suspension lifts increase ground clearance.

    Ground clearance is measured at the lowest point (rear differential). The only way to raise that differential off the ground is with taller tires.
