So I happened to actually open the skid steer operations manual on the securing for transportation page, and it appears I've:
    1. Bought too little a trailer*
    2. *= Been securing the machine the opposite way the instructions, well...instruct! Screenshot_20221006-174052_Drive.jpg
Guess I'll try and load it backwards with the implements up at the very front of the trailer?!? o_O:confused:

And yeah I know it's just their CYA if it's secured outside of their instructions...I just had the chain lengths literally backwards (if I even was within those prescribed min-max lengths!). Plus it hasn't fallen off or over so far...:anonymous:

Practice makes perfect, so I'll get some in before the 29th!

I think you are over thinking it a bit, but I absolutely understand the consequences if done improperly.

Totally am...but not breaking my neck over it...I always end up doing a chain check after going down the interstate a bit, or after twisty mountain roads before jumping on the highway/interstate.

For show or for The Show?!?

I imagine from a load distribution and load bearing have something to do with the minimum length off of the skid anchor point at 33" in the rear vs. minimum of 9" length off of the skid anchor at the front.

With my 14ft trailer, I have to pull it forward enough to not be too heavy on the rear most tire/tail end.

Might just futz with it this weekend to see how it can or can't work with the stump->smooth->grapple nested and sitting up at the front (grapple alone it 576 of my 950# 50% operating capacity (50% of tipping load).

Just think of it as less than the driver's cockpit space of the Taco, minus any seat adjustability, so based on that, I think you and Tim should be using it exclusively, and soley based on your comfort of course!

    Rite rite.

When I was in a Transportation Unit. Everything was X’d out (chained down) front and rear, being tracked, wheeled, containers or what have you. Granted, many a thing was also the width of said trailer. Toting twin M113’s with the tracks just at the side or hanging over the trailer was fun on a standard flatbed. Other stuff would just get thrown on and ratchet strapped if lucky.

There was a weird way of doing the tie down with the chain as well. Did not look right at all but kinda made sense after thinking about it.

I basically was running either one chain through both securement loops and angled to the stake pocket, or on the front two d rings...so instead of between 9 and 18 inches from the securement loops in front to stake pockets...I was more like 30-36 inches. Then the rear is only 8-18 inches!

Don't have many pics of the machine loaded up...

Below is when I first got the trailer...I just was messing trying to find the right balance with it loaded backwards.

I have a question for you guys that I am sure I will regret: I have a rifle chambered for .223. It's a hunting rifle. Yes, I know. It was cheap and instantly available. But that's not the question. Can ammunition that is labeled as 5.56 be used with the rifle? Internet is all over the place. I'm pretty sure I've done it in my AR before, but my memory is really bad. So before I potentially reconfigure my face, what say y'all?

Technical answer is only .223 through .223 Remington marked barrels.
5.56x45 marked barrels can shoot both.

In the last handful or more years they have introduced 223 Wylde which can shoot both...apparently are supposedly more accurate with .223 Remington vs. shooting it through a 5.56 barrel.

    Have I confused you?

    Quoting from here. https://bulkmunitions.com/5-56-vs-223-ammo-19-things-you-need-to-know/

O always hate that question as i do mot want to lead someone down the wrong path.

    5.56 vs 223
The 5.56 has a higher pressure measuring at 58,000 psi as compared to the 233’s 55,000 psi. Going by SAAMI standards, the lower pressure 223 can be used in the 5.56 chamber, but the 5.56 cannot be used in the lower pressured chamber for the 223 Remington.

The 5.56 also has a longer throat with a difference of .125 inches in length when compared with that of the 223 Remington bullet. The longer throat allows more holding capacity for gun powder in the 5.56, thus implying that it has a higher performance as compared to the 223 Remington.

The 223 bullet has dimensions that seal the contents tighter as compared to the 5.56 bullet. This compensates for the pressure difference in the two when fired from the same case. The smaller gun powder capacity on the 223 bullet, however, means that the 223 have lower power as compared to the 5.56.
