Icon rxt leaf pack

are you currently on option 2? i’m trying to decide between option 1 or 2. I only have yakima bed racks on my truck and was worried the ride might be harsh if i went with option 2.

Man I’m having the same conundrum. I’m installing RXTs next week and can’t decide between option 1 or 2. All I have is a Leer shell on my rig - shortbed. I won’t have much else in the back other than surf gear and camping gear every now and again. Just wanting to get about an inch of lift back to fix the lost rake from putting the shell on. I’m guessing option 2 since I’ve yet to see anyone on here that uses option 1 lol.

I'd say if you have any weight over stock permanently installed go ahead and do option 2. I did option 2 and all I have is a lomax cover, and that's not even on all the time. I rides fine.

 

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. I'm kind of going by this guy's guide. And he went option 1. Looks good, rides good with a shell on too. Anyone else on here go option 1 with just a shell?

 

This is option 1 with a shell nothing in the bed other then a strap and compressor

 

I went option 2 with my RSi shell. I did the AAL and it sagged bad when I was loaded up. Super happy with option 2. It was pretty stiff at first but has definitely settled and is comfortable now (or I just got used to the new normal). When I do fully pack the truck I get slight sag and wouldn't want option 1 based on what I'm seeing.

I'm at 24" from center of hub to fender.

 

This is stage 1 with no shell and a decked system full of tools, also stepped back down to a 265/70r17

Have my OVS awning on right now as well which weighs about 72lbs.

 

it had a little bit of rake to it, with the decked and shell it sat lower in the rear

 

I should also mention I have sliders, full skids, full size spare as well.

I recently moved from option 1 with no weight to option 2 and hard fold cover. Also running fox 2.5s all around. Wish I would have skipped the option 1 all along and went right to option 2. Just enough rake for me. Just my opinion and hope it helps.

 

thank you for your insight and the photo. truck looks great! you are also running the tire size that i’ve been contemplating as well. any rubbing with the 275’s?

 

thanks for the info. so with your current setup, rear lift is 1.875” with the springs on option 1 and 2.25” in the front correct? hard to tell in the pic but looks like there is a slight amount of rake? which is what I look to have after installing the rxt’s as well.

 

Loving the RXT springs on stage 3 with bilstein 61125/5160 at the 10/8 clip. With 275 pounds worth of topper and bed platform with a full tank of gas I’m at:

22.75” hub to fender drivers, 23” passenger
24.75” rear drivers and 25” passenger
