Why would it matter?

I mean, what's unfair about an unregulated exchange where the price is set completely ignoring the public market that negates accurate price discovery entirely?

How could that possibly hurt the public?

 

There's what, like maybe a dozen AI's that run the whole thing? Blackrock and Aladdin are the big ones, Citadel's got it's proprietary algos, and the big funds run some sort of spin off of those.

Everything you see on a brokerage screen is either delayed, inaccurate, or straight up fake.

Buy a share of stock? Newp. You got a ledger balance moved from a 0 to a 1

But orderly markets!

Turns out "orderly" means "only allowed to reflect price movements we're hedged for".

Blockchain has been largely useless so far, but tying trustless tokenization to instant-settle share transactions seems like the killer app.

 

This is also why index investing is the only option for us joe schlubs. Big money/corrupt money wants longterm growth too.

 

There is strong evidence that this is exactly what GME is quietly working on in the background.

 

Yeah, but until the majority market is on that platform it's hard to see how it would matter.

 

1. Tie up the majority of retail's money in funds and etfs where they can't touch it

2. rip apart the underlying and short the stocks continuously while making massive profits off of arbitrage

3. fix the growth rate to a gradual 10% ROI over a person's lifespan or arbitrary set number of decades or something.

 

It's not gonna get mass adoption overnight, but I could easily see companies that know their stock is being fucked with want to jump over to a fair and transparent exchange.

Might only take a few to get the ball rolling and then see a snowball effect.

 

Strong is a strong word. There is chatter from desperate fools on Reddit. That’s hardly evidence

 

Look at the people they've hired over the last two years. You don't bring on that sort of talent just to make a nft jpg trading platform...

You also don't build a stock exchange from scratch in 2 years.

 

Yes, it takes much longer if you are building an NFT trading platform instead

 

GME, even pre-squeeze, didn't have DPV as high and as consistent as we are seeing in BBIG.

 

Either way, it's criminal. DP's should only exist so institutions can make large trades without impacting the -- wait, what am I saying...they should be outlawed in every circumstance.

 

I couldn't agree more. It's not the way the system was set-up to work and it needs to go. It wont but it needs to.
