I've had kd max tunes for the past 2 years, never heard of this one until now. Super interested if it gives me more power over the pro xt tune I currently have. I want to push this what's possible with this little engine. Side note though, I have urd extractor pipes, full catless exhaust too.

Do you have the flash kit or would you need to meet with a tuner?

I've run Nexus +P and now on Blackhawk, both huge improvements over KDMax Pro. More power, better shifting, and better MPG's than I got with KDMax. Still on stock downtubes but I'm running the URD Spec-U exhaust that deletes the rear cats.

My MPGs dropped by 2-3 with this tune. Throttle just always wanted to go. There was more power for sure but notice some low load and RPM detention. I ended up switching back to KDMax Pro and MPGs went back up to where they were before. Probably just going to leave it since I’m sick of spending money on tunes.

MPG's are tough to guarantee. Some see an increase, some see a decrease. Most of the tunes I have tested, this included, I don't see much of a change at all.

Regardless, if/when updates release, just remember that you are always welcome to get the newest updates from us, free of charge. No need to spend any more money.

I had no expectations of MPG increases or decreases coming into this. I just drive really conservatively and tend to get better MPGs than most. I don’t need all the throttle at once all the time. If you want to scale the throttle back a shit ton and send me a file, I’ll give it another try. Seemed like truck was constantly hitting acceleration enrichment even just trying to cruise with a steady throttle at any speed. Then when rolling at low speeds off throttle, I’d get back on the throttle, it would ping a bit like there wasn’t enough enrichment or too much timing. Just my observations. I reset all settings at initial flash and let everything relearn.

Out of curiosity, were you on WW or AD? But yes, we can gladly get a new adjusted set of files sent your way.

It was the WW file. My understanding was that was the mildest map. I got the new file so I’ll check it out and let you. I appreciate the support. Thanks again!

I did report pinging a while back. So you are not alone.
""I've been getting heavy knocking while driving slow in town. Happened 3 days in a row in 4th (25-35 mph), some while taking off from the stop. KCLV usually at 28-30 when it happens. KFB swings down to -6.8 -7.5..."

I don not have logs specific for this issue. All observed on the obd. WW file w/87 gas.
Based on the road conditons, rpms were around 1500. Not sure about load. A/C was running for sure.
The weather was hot that week and I remember the intake temperature was around 120

I had the same issues I believe as vlady and maxx. Trying to accelerate slowing just resulted in a lot of stuttering. I finally went back to nexus as I stopped receiving any replies on the issue from who sent me the tune. Shame because I did like the way the transmission behaved more with the Blackhawk tune. Either way the nexus tune is way better than stock so I’m happy.

Sorry to hear that! I receive an email any time I'm sent a PM so feel free to send me one if you don't hear back from anyone else in the group.

I'll send you an updated tune pack. Has any info changed since March? New tires, different email, etc.?

Wow thanks for the quick response. I have installed an AGM battery since then if there’s a firmware change for that? Other than that no sir.

We do have a tune with adjustments for AGM. I'll make sure you get those!
Again, apologies for the no response. I will make sure each of us has settings like mine, where emails are sent when a new message is received.

Ok thank you. As soon as I get the updated file I will give it a try and report back here. Again I’m happy with what I have and was not trying to rip on anyone. Honestly I wrote off my problem to my truck being lighter than most (4x2 access cab stock everything). Most guys on here are far from this basic setup I believe.

I’ve also had the “pinging” ….. but, I think it’s better described as the “marbles bouncing in the skillet” sound.
    Definitely knock. I’ve had the "BlackHawk" WW 87 octane tune in since July 10 ’22 ( via A.J. / thanks ! )
Is this the latest rev. ?
It’s done it 3 times. Twice with an empty bed / stock weight / tires. Once while pulling the
Boat ( 14.5 ‘ so not overloaded ). I didn’t have it “floored” …. Probably 75% throttle. Since then I use less throttle
and it does OK. Always first or second gear. ( 6MT )
I didn’t mention this before now …… ‘till I read that the other 3 guys were having the issue also.

So ….. if you guys make changes to the tune ….. shoot me the file. Thanks !

Yeah there was an update published right around then to address the issues that were brought up.

your issue sounds different than mine. More than quarter throttle my truck ran great. It’s trying to accelerate slowly/normally is where I had issues. I also tried 87, 89 and 93 octane with no change. I really don’t think it was a ping issue. More of a too sensitive of a tip-in issue? I think that’s what it’s called but I am far from an expert on this. This is why I came to the conclusion that if my truck was heavier I would not have this issue and just went back to the nexus tune. I wasn’t expecting future upgrades for free anyway.
