Yes. Actually now that I give this more thought. I shouldn't even think about putting any of the 5.56 I have here through that rifle.

    Don't worry .. good question.

I have a multi chambered AR for both. Only shoot the .223 thru it even though I can run .556 . Reason is, I started with the .223 and figured I’d keep it that way.

Try and find .223 soft point rounds. Best thing for pesky critters, biggish and small.

Finding it could be more problematic, but most every hunting round will be .223 Remington vs. 5.56x45 NATO ammo.

I have hollow point .223 rounds that I bought specifically for it. The reason I'm asking it because I only bought a few boxes of those and don't want to waste them just screwing around. I've never shot this rifle and wanted to bring it down to Chris' and see how the scope is, and run it through the paces. I do have a few thousand million 5.56 rounds here and thought about just running those through it to play around.

It's a moot question anyway. I forgot that the 5.56 I have here are all green tip so I would assume that's a bad idea.

Green tips are more of a backstop/range restriction since it's a light armor penetrator round.

Check on places like freedom munitions dot com for .223 reloads...they can be got realitively cheap (for 2020+ pricing)

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Truck is mostly packed. Load suitcases in the morning and the hard part, getting Tessa off to boarding. By about 0830 we should be headed to Tennessee for the first stop on our two week adventure.

Green tips are bad for sighting in. They key hole and are not consistent. Is it a .223 or a .233 Wylde? .223 Wylde can shoot either 5.56 or .223

Why do you have to ask all these hard questions?

I'll look. It's a Marlin something or other. Or maybe a Savage. Complete impulse buy a while ago. I was angry someone beat me to the G36.

    Talking pew pews.

Wife likes her new Walther. She did mention two miss fires, that she eventually made fire. She just pulled the trigger a couple more times and it went bang in the correct direction. I asked her if she cleaned it before shooting, and got a big fat no. So I cleaned it that night and waiting for her to shoot again, or I could for the hell of it.

Needs to stock up on rounds again.

PDP F series. She took it right outta the box and shot it. Was a little gummy inside when I went through it. All clean now. Will give it a whirl this week and see how it does.

They say dogs don't understand time or days of the week, but Fancy knows 6pm (dinner) and Mondays (she doesn't like to get up early).

First thing Tessa does is head to the kitchen looking for her breakfast. I sometimes have to call her back to get some "dad" time.

    Sunday Gun Day!!

My tree guy came out to put his first rounds through his new to him Desert Eagle 50AE. He brought pumpkins, cinder blocks and landscape/retainer blocks and I filled up a handful of gallon jugs of water.
    .380 auto vs. .50 auto
    20221009_144027.jpg

We both shot gallon jugs and they landed within 10 inches of each other (you can see his jug at my feet)...they flew from the respective cinder blocks they were on.
    56657.jpg

So much fun to shoot cinder blocks, pumpkins, water jugs, etc!
